I believe the Aug and Sept issues of Popular Mechanics and Popular Science have 20% coupons for Harbor Freight. Not sure how much those mags cost because I have a subscription. My Home Depot accepts them whereas my Lowes do not.

HELP Re: Home Depot Coupons

Does anyone know if Home Depot or Lowes will honor the 10% discount for military AND the 10$ coupon (stacked) that is in the address change packet from the post office?

You could call the store in your area to confirm as it may be different, but in my area it would be a no on stacking.

I work at Home Depot and I can tell you that they only do the military discount when its listed in the ad or its veterans day or memorial day. Its not a regular basis. Also the only way you can get great deals is if you know someone that works there other wise only thing you can do is use the 10 % off purchase from lowes and bring it to home depot there are some 10 % off coupons floating around from home depot. Other than that there is really nothin else

I wanted to add to my earlier post. . .

When I built my house (myself - never again) Home Depot would price match. If I found the same item advertised for a lower price, they matched it plus gave me an additional 10% off. I am not sure if they still do this, but I would ask. I saved a bundle doing this.

I don't know if you are partial to Home Depot, but last I checked Lowes had a similar price match policy as well.

Best wishes with your project.

Lumber, sheetrock, etc have a small (5%) discount, most things are 10%-20% and some high profit items like lighting and decor are up to 33% off. I would guess that Home Depot would have a similar program. It doesn't hurt to ask for a better deal - esp on large purchases.
The minimum for Home Depot's commerical buying is $2500.
Just go to the Pro Desk and they will help.

I've also heard that Home Depot honors Lowe's coupons (haven't tried it myself). You can get free 10% off Lowe's coupons at the post office in the moving/change address envelope.
Home Depot will take Lowe's coupons, and other Hardware store coupons. But they can't be photocopied.

The registers won't allow coupon stacking.

Home Depot still has the price match guarantee. It doesn't have to be in print either. If you go to the service desk, they will call the other store to verify, and then you get an additional 10% off.

Some stores offer the military discount year round. I'm not sure how they pick the stores though.

I got an email from Home Depot today. In it there are two coupons: $3 off any Glad trash item and $2 off any Pine-Sol item. Does Home Depot allow you to use a mfg. coupon and a Home Depot coupon on the same item??

HD definitely still does the pricematch plus 10%. exclusions include clearance, open box merch, labor and installation, sales tax and rebate offers as well as select Maytag and John Deere products. It also has to be for in-stock identical products. Does say any retailer though, so not just other hardware stores...

I know ours will do a military discount year round but you have to ask and usually remind them they are 20mins from a Navy base. Sometimes it requires permission from the ASM or SM.

Last I recall you could use a HD coupon and a regular manufacturer coupon (bogo ant traps come to mind from last summer). CS should be able to tell you for sure for your store and recent policy changes.

Knowing a HD employee won't do you squat, unless its an inside tip on a clearance/markdown item. They don't get a discount on anything and plenty of items are vendor controlled so they can't even mark them down oftentimes without the store eating the discount.

Contractor services with 2500 or more of stuff is a good bet, as is the moving packet coupon. Not sure if you can combine those but I imagine its a no.

The only coupons I get on a regular basis are garden club ones. Rarely get $/$$ ones even though I spend quite a bit there.:shrug7:

I've never had a customer try this...so I really don't know this one. Sorry.
