    QUESTION HobbieLobbie - Odd experience

Today, I went to HL, and had three coupons. I bought two things that were on sale, but another two that weren't. I told the cashier that I had two coupons, and she said, "I can only take one coupon per day, per customer." Yeah, everyone says that, but usually, it's two transactions. Nope not here. Has anyone else had this happen? I thought it was strange.

Wait! I am confused. How many coupons did you have? You said you had three but told the cashier you had two. And were these Hobby Lobby coupons? Or manufacturer coupons? That might make a difference.

The only coupon I have ever used there was the 40% off any item. I only used one. I believe it said I could only use one. I can't remember the wording.

I would never ask for two transactions for something like that. What I would do if I wanted to use two or three coupons (and assuming these were Hobby Lobby coupons) would be to go through the line 2 or 3 times. Preferably different lines. Going out to my vehicle each time and putting the bag in there before returning.

The only way I would ask for separate transactions would be if I had items I was buying for someone else...and even then maybe not if there was a way they could give me a total including tax for those items... Or... In the case (and this has never happened for me) that I had so many items and/or so many coupons that I would exceed a line limit and I would have to do that.

I believe HL and Michaels have always had that policy. I have never been able to use two 40% off coupons. Now, I have heard of people handing a second coupon to their dh, kids, friends, etc. I haven't ever gone out to my car and come back in because my craft stores usually only have one or maybe two cashiers working.

At Michaels, I have been told that you can use two different coupons like one for 20% off your entire purchase and one for 40% off any one item. But, once when my normal cashier wasn't working I tried it and the other cashier said no.

Our Hobby Lobby has been sooo busy! It's new. Every register open. And lines! Christmas mostly sold out two weeks ago.

I love Hobby Lobby. Their 50% off sales are awesome. Sometimes, my coupon problem there is finding something that isn't already on sale, so that I can use even one coupon. I also love that they put their Christmas stuff out so early. If you want to have a crafty Christmas, you need to get started early. :)

Sorry I wasn't clear; I had three HL coupons - I get several papers. I had two things which qualified for coupons. At Michael's, JoAnne's, AC Moore, they will let me use a coupon for EACH transaction. IOW, I can use one, pay, and then do another transaction with another coupon. I live 30 miles +/- from each of these shops, so I gotta make up for the gas. If I had known they stuck to it, I would have used one, gone out to the car, come back in, gone to another register with another coupon. I just never had it happen before.

I love HL; and I agree that I like everything out early.

One per customer per day that is what their coupons say.

you would need to take a friend or a relative to do a transaction to use the other coupon

I don't get to Hobby Lobby often enough to try coupons there, but I love their sales.
I do visit two different Michael's stores. One will allow back to back transactions with coupons; the other strictly enforces the one-per-person-per-day language.

What is frustrating for me is the inconsistent enforcement. If all stores paid attention to the one-per-day limit, at least I'd know what to expect.
Please PM me for trades; the database messes with my mind.
