I was just looking to see if anyone has posted anything about this...I received a call from Kroger this morning saying that I had purchased the product and I was not supposed to eat it and return it to the store.
As reported by Channel 13
Possible E-coli contamination prompts a ground beef recall by Kroger and H-E-B.
This move is connected to last week's voluntary recall of beef by JBS Swift Beef Company in Colorado. Kroger is asking customers to check for the store brand and store packaged ground beef with sell by dates between April 27th and June first.
H-E-B also has several beef products you need to check for.

I have been using my $3 beef wine tag at Kroger and HEB but I take all my meat outa the packages and food saver it before I freeze. Now what? I don't know what I bought at Kroger and what is HEB.

I would have the same problem Chris, I don't keep them in the packages they are bought in.
Lucky for me, all the meat deals I have gotten lately was at Randalls.
Maybe you can call the stores district offices and ask what you can do. It seems Kroger is calling people that show purchases on their club card, so if they called you, I guess that means some of your meat might be on the list.

Please, just use common sense when there is a recall for E. coli. If you might have gotten some of it, handle it properly and cook it thoroughly just as you would do with any other meat and you won't have any problems. They have to recall it because there are too many morons out there that don't have common sense!
