Tell me about your HEB

Well, I went to HEB earlier this week for about $100 woth of food. In the check out lane, everything went great until a stack of coupons was pulled out. Then the cashier actually checked each itme in the bags against the coupons to ensure that all items were purchased.
This was a rather long process; it's my last trip to HEB.

Wow. That is sooo crazy. I went to another HEB location a few weeks ago, and I got the "meal deal." When I gave the meal deal coupons to the cashier, she asked, "Did you get all the items for this coupon??" in a disdainful tone. DUH. The items on the coupon were for FREEE...did she actually think I would FOREGO my free items?? I think not. And I'm sure if I'd missed one of the items, the register would've beeped....so I felt like saying quit with the questions and just scan the coupons through!!! But again, this was the HEB off of 45. The one I now frequent off of Gattis School Road is LOVELY. They are friendly....customer friendly AND coupon friendly. So if there's anyone who is within proximity to that HEB, by all means....SHOP THERE!

I am not the biggest fan of the HEB I go too. I find that most of the employees are as friendly as a croc and as happy to be there as I am. For the most part the store is clean, and normally well stocked. The managers tend to think they are one step away from God. The service center, where I normally buy stamps, 90% of the time has a line from He$$. This one poor girl is always working and having to deal with everything. When you just want a book of stamps and the 20 people in front of you are wanting to send something western union it becomes a real pain. It's normally easy to find someone on the floor to help you, but most of them act as though you have interruped a meeting with the president when you ask. It's not the best place in the world to visit. There is this one checker that every time I am in her line she Bi$$ches on and on about how much she hates her job and how they only pay her $7 an hour. Then she goes on to say she has been there five years! Are you kidding me? You have been at a job you hate for 5 years and you are only making $7 an hour??? Now I could see staying if you were making $30 an hour but $7 ??? Don't complain if you are the foolish one who stays? Don't get me wrong if you make $7 an hour then great, hey at least you have a job, but don't stay some place you hate for 5 years complaining all the way when you can find a job making $7 an hour any place. There are at least 5 places in the same parking lot looking for new staff! Having a job you is priceless, but don't stay when you hate it, and you make everyone around you miserable including the customers. I avoid her line now at all cost!! I would go to Central Market any day if it wasn't so far from me. With the price of gas I only go every few weeks.

I was at the HEB in New Braunfels day before yesterday and
all the boxes of strawberries on the shelf were MOLDY!!
but that is no suprise.

I too have encountered the "I hate working at HEB" employees too. I did actually tell one girl why doesn't she find a new job then.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I wish I had the guts to say that to somebody. I normally just roll my eyes and walk away. At least you now have an *almost* super Target in town txmom! I'm going to have to go check it out, as I got some coupons in the mail the other day that are only good at that store.
