A question from a newbie

Hi All,

I'm new here! Last week my husband and I were shopping at HEB and spent about $80 after the coupons came out. I saved about $30 in coupons. When you spend $60 (or $65?) you're supposed to get a $3 gas coupon. The checker decided not to give us one, we asked and he said it was because of the other coupons we had used. Does anyone know if this is store policy? I've gotten them before after using coupons. Disgruntled employee? I wanted my not quite a gallon of gas!

As for myself I can't say if that is right or wrong as far as I know my HEB doesn't have a gas program. I would suggest calling the store manager or calling the 800 number if you should get one then they should give it to you. They are getting their money back for the coupons, but I am not sure what their policy is since we don't have that program (not that I know of)

I haven't seen that promo at HEB in a LOOONG time. (like last year)
back then you had to buy so much from a specific list of brands. Then you got the gas card.
It doesn't hurt to ask the manager for clarification tho.
