| | There really are "angels" out there... Weather you call them angels, or just really nice people, or whatever other word there are for someone that helps you in a time of need. I just wanted to share my story. This is not a RAOK or anything fun like that...just felt the need to share. I wanted to post earlier today but can we say "hectic" day?
OK so last night I went to do my weekly shopping. I had my list and coupons (after struggling all day to get them clipped and ready to go...thank you DH for taking the kids for a bit so I could do my thing!) and so I went to Albertsons to get my stuff. It wasn't much, some ground beef, cheerios snack mix (only had 2 bags...got a rain check), some Betty Crocker frosting (they only had lemon flavor, but this was my purchase for a promo the store was running so I got 22 cans of lemon frosting ), some Pillsbury grands and eggs (I had a coupon for free eggs WYB 4 grands ) and a few other odds and ends. I had left the house with just an envelope of coupons and another envelope with 2 $50 bills (my budget). I got to the register, rang all up with coupons and found that my money envelope was gone! It was in my coat pocket which I had put in the baby seat. I ran around the store real quick to look for it devastated. No luck. I told the cashier to cancel my order cause I did not even bring my purse with me or anything. I told the cashier that I could run back home with the money but she could not for the life of her figure out how to suspend my order. By this time I was getting upset at myself for loosing the money, upset that the cashier was having problems suspending my order, and quite frankly embarrassed that I was holding up the only line open at the store and it looked like I was too poor to get my groceries. The cashier said that the register was telling her that she had to unring all of my coupons (75-80 coupons I would guess) and the guy right behind me only had 1 thing and he threw a tizz and left the store upset. I was really embarrassed by this time.
Then the lady that was now behind me took out $100.00 bill (the exact total of my bill..it wasnt that great of a shopping trip LOL) and insisted on paying for my groceries. I refused but she insisted. I begged for her address so I could mail her a check, she refused and instead told me to accept the Christmas gift and if I was able to to pay it forward. I accepted her gift and told her that I would indeed pay it forward.
This morning the store called and someone had turned in my envelope with my money in it.
You guys...there really are angels out there...I was blessed by two. One who paid for my groceries and the other who turned in my money.
I plan on paying it forward... I just have not figured out how just yet. I am thinking about just giving the money to our holiday helping hand or maybe do a few Angel tree gifts this year. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to post.
This is not the first time I have been blessed by angels and along with the "karma" theme I always pay it forward when I can.
Have you ever been blessed by angels like that? If so I would love to hear your stories.

One thing I would do it your situation: write a letter to the editor about what happened and how grateful you are and what you have decided to do with the $100. Sometimes they publish things like this and it would be nice for the woman who helped you to see it. It would also be nice for others to see it after reading the rest of the paper which is mostly filled with the rotten things that happen.

I do agree with the editor idea. There are so many bad things happening today , its great to have a story of people helping others in the world. |

I have an "angel" story (that has nothing to do with couponing), but I'll tell it another day. |
