It really depends on the cashier, but generally, you get both for free. Because the B1G1F half off rings up at the end, when the cashier goes to look up the price, they see the full price on the screen. The cashier has to manually key in the price, so it's up to the cashier. I've even had situations where I honestly told the cashier the half price on the item, but they give me the full amount off.

I have had that happen too, with shampoo a few months ago. I think it was the Pro Vive.

Has anyone gotten overage on an item using a raincheck and a coupon? My store was completely wiped out of the Tava drinks that were on sale for .99 and I have the 1.50 IP cpns. I ended up getting a raincheck for it but I'm wondering if I would get the overage with the 1.50 cpn if I used a raincheck or would the register automatically adjust it to .99?

I'm wondering the same thing. I got a raincheck for the Gum toothbrush when they were 4/$3.00. I also have the $.75/1 Q, so it will create some nice overage during triples. Can a Harris Teeter expert let us know?

You will not get overages on rainchecks because the cashier has to enter the price manually. The computer will double/triple up to the keyed in price so you can get it for free.

I don't usually get overages on the raincheck items. When they enter the raincheck and key in the price, then the computer will just double or triple up to the price the cashier entered. It really just depends how the cashier enters it. I haven't tried the Tava yet, but you should get an overage on that, but I would bet the coupon is going to beep.

Michelle - you are right - I'm losing my mind - they will double/triple up to the price the cashier enters because it is keyed in manually. Let me edit my post.

Default Harris Teeter's Coupon Policy

Only 20 manufacturer coupons will be doubled/tripled. As advertised, we will double or triple your manufacturer coupons, $0.99 or less, up to 20 coupons per household, per day. Only cents-off coupons will be counted towards your limit of 20, so there's no need to separate free coupons from the others. Also keep in mind that some coupons do not double by manufacturer default; these coupons are marked as such. Competitor coupons will not be doubled or tripled.

Expired coupons will not be accepted. It is a company wide policy not to accept expired coupons.

No cash-back will be given. Sometimes, a coupon will triple or even double to below the product's sale amount, creating a negative total (example: "Total Due: -$0.12"). Harris Teeter will not give money back to a customer, as opposed to them paying something. If you get a negative total, your only option is to add product to your order to create a positive total due, and then pay-out the difference.

All applicable sales taxes must be paid by the customer. Many free coupons will deduct the cost of the product to you, but keep the sales tax the same. This is intended. A Customer Service Representative will not omit your taxes due unless you can prove tax exempt status.

No rainchecks will be issued for couponed items. Some customers ask us for a raincheck for a product we had out of stock so that they can have the coupon triple price at a later date. We will glady issue you a raincheck for the sales price, and though we do apologize they item is out of stock, we do ask that you come back when the product is restocked, at which point your coupon will be doubled.

HUH?! Are you saying that you refuse to write rainchecks on legitimately out of stock items because there is a coupon available?
