Well done!

I went to HT today as my last stop of shopping. I have barely shopped in the past 10 days and was itching to get out. I am in need of meats and thought about getting some tilapia with my $1/1 any seafood winetags, but decided to pass.
I noticed there were quite a few packages of ground meat that had $4 off yellow ht stickers on them, so I had to investigate to see what meat it was, and it was GROUND LAMB!!
Shelf price $5.99 each
-$4 sticker
=$1.99 for one lb of ground lamb!!!! heck that is better than the ground beef right now!! so I scooped up all 5 packs!! woo hoo! that was a great score. now I gotta figure out what to make with it. I really wanna do something different.
also I strolled down the packaged salad area and they had a lot of bags with $3, $2 or $1 stickers on them, subtract them from the shelf price and I was paying less than 0.50 per bag!!! I picked up 4 various bags totalling $1.25!!
ok I'm done bragging, just thought I would share my score with my ht shopping friends.![]()
Well done!

Melli has been added to my will! She gets all my bacon!
ok so far here is what I am thinking of making:
-awesome meatballs(probably enough to freeze some for another meal when I add in ground beef and pork)
-shepards pie(will save this for a really cold day, yummy)
-Kicked up meatloaf(I usually just use ground beef and ground pork but the addition of lamb will be great I am sure)
-mini Lamb burgers with garlic ricotta( going to use some of the smart balance milk I get during SD to make the ricotta, also I have to make some dinner rolls too)
that leaves one package of meat left, and I have a while to figure out what I will do with it. so excited to try something a little bit different. should be interesting!
You go girl!

Was that at our store?
I went today and spent too much money...
But I was getting frustrated because they are in the middle of doing a remodel and moving all the aisles! PLUS they had a bunch of the frozen foods in carts waiting for the reset, plus a freezer sitting in the middle of the frozen desserts section (where the frozen fruit was), and the nuts had been moved! They messed with the cleaning/pet food aisle, I can't take it!

It's been a while since I've seen a decent deal on lamb. Way to go!
val, I kind of like the mix up they are doing, but the store is a mess. and yes, this was at our store :)
oh and I agree, I do not like the cleaning and pet aisle, it's all backwards.
and what is that monstrocity going to be, that is where the frozen fruit was????
@leget:
i do my best to do different things when I cook, but my loving husband is not as ambitious with his food as I am. gyros and lamb kababs would be great, but I would be the only one eating them. I have tried new recipes that I thought knocked it out of the park, and he ends up making himself ham sandwiches for dinner. so I tread lightly on multi-cultural foods

So did I. We went like $25 over our budget for today and got quite a few things that weren't on the list but they were still good buys. It turned out that my sister had a bunch of $1 coupons in her pocket that she forgot to give the cashier. So we'll probably return those items tommorow so we can use the coupon.
Was your store waaay understocked too?
