Extreme Couponers- North Carolina Paper

Why is this thread in the HT forum? I see nothing about HT here?

Posted it for informational purposes and we all can use some knowledge every day of our lives:

1. Many readers here from North carolina- so an article about couponer's in NC might interest them and maybe even know them or the stores mentioned, as people shop not just at HT but other stores in NC

2. Been many posts/threads in this HT forum on the Extreme coupon show, despite none of them having to do specifically with HT, so an article explaining what actually goes on would be informational for those posters and also for those wanting to see the show wed on a NC store.

3. Having a discussion about the article seems to have generated some good discussion which is also the purpose of a message board

And FWIW the article did mention HT a few times if want to be technical FWIW( talked about their coupon policy and sales), so even in that you had HT mentioned

Why is this thread in the HT forum? I see nothing about HT here?

When I posted a thread in Lowe's forum about Lowe's admitting they ignored their policy to participate in that show, my thread was moved to That's Entertainment. ~sigh~

I'm really done talking about EC show period. It just gives more credit to it than anything else. Sorry this is just my two cents.

What Lowe's didn't do, is honor their own policy concerning coupon usage, so they could be on the show.

I think that's reason enough to be mad, it's called discrimination against their regular customers, for their own personal gain.

I guess I have a strong streak of honesty and integrity and believe that when a company claims they have integrity and clearly they can set that aside, then they've basically treated those of us who believed in their consistency and integrity of their own policy, as chumps.

To each his own.

A response to a letter is customary, especially in a customer oriented business such as Lowe's Foods. Apparently, that isn't part of their 'integrity' either, to actually respond.

To me, it shows their stated Values are just that, stated, not followed.

I completely agree. I do not like this show. It really irritates me.

Well, I live in Concord where the self described "shelf clearer" in the article lives (and at least 2 other women who hold couponing classes on regular basis) so I'd love to have them follow me on the first day of doubles/triples. Then they can watch me visit 3 different stores to use up my 20 coupon limit just to find shelves cleared of almost every item. I don't think there would be such an interest for all the newbie couponers then! Lol.

Agree. The true side of couponing wouldnt be interesting enough to put on tv!

I'm hoping and praying it's nobody I know, as I'm going to blow a gasket. I cannot stand the extreme couponers who ruin things for the rest of us and are rude, selfish (Really? You're proud of being a shelf-clearer?!), and think of nobody but themselves. On behalf of all of the sensible, friendly couponers here in Snow Camp, I apologize.

If you go to LF forum and locate the news story you read this:

As the show's season ended in early June, national retailers began adding restrictions to their coupon policies to thwart extreme coupon copycats, Miller said.

The show has hurt all of us, not helped.

I didn't know about this because I detest the EC show, and avoid anything to do with it most of the time. Well, I have to say, this too makes me lose respect for Lowes Foods.
