I don't know what to do with the Country Crock ('yellow poo' I think someone called it here long ago...). I had to get it to make my eggs .88 since I can't wait till tomorrow to get the Saturday special e-Vic eggs. Need to make my dd a cake with 7-minute frosting tonight and it uses a ton of eggs.

Real butter all the way baby! It is hard when that is what you are used too! I had gotten that smart balance stuff and didn't know what to do with it and so I threw it in the freezer...then I found someone to pawn it off on...

I've spoiled my family by only using butter. I've never bought the spreads/margarines because of the trans fats. Of course, now most of them are trans fat free, but if I buy them, no one eats them.

Finally went last night, expecting them to be out of pretty much everything, and I was right. I brought in about 25 coupons and got to use 8 of them.

While I've been able to find just about everything on my list the first day, since then I've been collecting rain checks for a lot of items.

They'll come in handy during another coupon event with new coupons.

Went to HT yesterday to see if they had a few items and to get my Saturday evics. Nope - no Krunchers, no LoL butter. I did get my Saturday specials and a few other items we needed, then headed for checkout.

I get to the checkout counter and my measly $17ish transaction declines. The cashier says to try it as a credit transaction rather than debit. It's still a no-go. Having checked my balance before entering the store, I knew there was plenty of money in there. I'm completely embarrassed at this point but I ask them to transfer the transaction to CS while I call my bank. I do and guess what? Still plenty of money in my account. We try my card again twice and twice, it declines. Ready to slink away in shame, I write a check and run out the door.

I get home and lo and behold, my bank is calling. It turns out that someone in CHINA (!) put through a fraudulent charge from a phony hotel through to my account. It was only for $7.61 but as soon as it was approved by my bank, the scammers reversed it so that it would never show up in my transaction history. The bank caught the transaction though, and froze my account. Soon after my transactions at HT declined, the crooks tried to hit my bank account for nearly $500!

Luckily, my bank (actually a credit union) is really on the ball and saved me from being robbed blind. So while my HT trip was a bit of a bust, thank heavens for my bank having such sharp eagle-eyes!

I'm so sorry everyone had such yucky experiences with rude couponers. Everyone today at my store was so pleasant, it was nice. The staff is so patient during triples, too. We had a family emergency after the hurricane so I have NOT been up with coupons, but still managed to drag a friend and get some good deals.

We each got 3 of each for free after coupons:

Also got some 99¢ grapes, 79¢ bread, 79¢ salad and $1.99 honey. (I'm going to make honey cornbread, yum!) So I thought it was a pretty good trip. Despite our combined kids inhaling a box on Nilla wafers in the store and practically eating their weight in cantaloupe samples.

ETA: I wanted some Hawaiian Rolls, $1.99/lb beef, Velveeta Shells & Cheese, Nature Valley Granola Thins (they only had one box) and some other things, but they were out.
