    Thumbs Down Check your receipts!

After my recent couponing trip, I checked my receipt. The amount of my sale sounded a little high, but i didn't see anything out of the ordinary on my receipt. I got home, added everything up, only to find out there was a mysterious $4.00 added into my amount. I checked it 2 more times, added exactly what was on the receipt and subtracting discounts and coupons. Ladies, make sure you are checking your receipts. Don't know what all this is about, but Harris Teeter seems to be doing as much as they can to prevent losing money. My cashier even was reading the fine print on every coupon to make sure i didn't have any DNDs. She found five of them. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

You're shopping at a store that local management (store manager) has decided not to allow doubling on coupons that specify DND - yet, there are many HT's that do allow that. I've spoken to store managers and they have told me it's a store level decision.

But did you hand over any coupons that begin with a "9" on the barcode perhaps?

It would be hard to prove they shorted you $4 unless you knew each coupon and whether it was allowed to double when scanned or which ones had DND that they manually entered as well.

If the actual total spent and saved don't line up, then I would take it to the CS desk and ask them to look at the inaccuracy of the totals if that is where the problem is.

Coupons are found money - who walks by money on the ground??

yes i actually added up exactly what's on the receipt, the spent and the saved, and it doesnt add up right. I definitely will be bringing receipt to them wednesday when i go back. As for the DNDs. One of the cashiers that i talk with often, said they just started making them check the fine print since the last time i came in. They are being quite anal about the whole situation. The shelves are bare in quite a few places and they just say its out in the warehouse but the cashier said he didn't know whether to believe that or not. They used to be so friendly at the store. Now they act like us couponers are trying to rob them.
