QUESTION Anyone notice q's didn't double?

At first I was very proud of my transaction today!

Then I started dissecting the receipt. My tic tac coupon was for $0.75 and it didn't double. One of my Frank's Red Hot Sauce didn't double. In fact it rang up for $0.54.

I made sure to reach each coupon and none said 'do not double'. Also - I bought 3 of the hot sauces but in the coupon policy it said up to 3 like items can be purchased and doubled. The cashier did have to call the CSM to override the 3rd coupon.

What should I do? Just eat the extra savings or call the store back? I don't want to sound ungrateful but that could have saved me another $1.25.

I assume they were part of the 20 doubled coupons per day.

The $0.75 will only double to the price of the tic tacs. They are $1.29 at my store, so will only double to $0.54.

What coupons did you use on the Franks? Were they on sale for BOGO? I might have an answer depending on your answer!

they aren't going to give you overage if you look at the top it says $.75 then at the bottom its $.54

After I got home I noticed I had one $1 coupon that didn't double yesterday, but as much as I saved I didn't go back to get that. If it was more than one and happened often then I might say something.

If any of your coupons begin with the number 9 on the bar code, they will not double either, those are coded not to double. That could be part of it.

But the coupons will only double up to the price of the product, you get no overage. The registers are programmed to only double up to the price, but not beyond it.

    Hope that helped!

Yes, I also had an order yesterday where one of my $1 coupons did not double. It was my only trip for the day with 20 coupos, and I checked prices which were all $1 or more (everything cost more than the value of the coupon). However, the cashier had scanned my coupons so quickly that I was unable to catch which one did not double. So three HT employees read all my coupons and also looked at my order on the computer screen; no one could find a problem, so they finally did an override and doubled the $1 coupon. At least everyone was nice and friendly (except for the customer behind me who kept sighing loudly...). I was calm & polite and was curious myself since I felt I had checked all the coupons and followed all their rules. Oh well,.... something often happens when I use 20 coupons in one order, and also if the cashier scans the coupons too quickly, etc.

I know sometimes when they have had to override a coupon some do not double. Some do automatically. ALthough i never use dnd's but i noticed it the other day when i was in there when they over rode some. A couple doubled but one did not.

I had a couple of the "do not double" coupons which have the 5 but the cashier went in and stopped the double because of wording. Rats.

The new GS-1 barcodes will take effect soon -- no more doubling of coupons that say DND -- even if they begin with a 5. Not looking forward to these and other big changes.
