Default Is a sale item considered a "deal" ?

I wanted 20 HT orange juice. They had 11 on the shelf.
    I asked for a raincheck.
The clerk said "how many do you want.....pause.....I think it is 6."
"I'd like more than that, so can you check?"

    Manager said 3 "per deal."

I asked the clerk why they let me buy 11 today, and only 3 tomorrow.
They said, they did not know and they were only following instructions.

So, I was given a raincheck for 3 which is not worth the gas, to drive way back over there. Of course, I can use it any time.

    That is an interesting question:
They let me buy all I want today, but only 3 tomorrow, or next week.

I think the reason is that for sales and special deals they negotiate a lower price with manufacturers/distributors. Then you come a few weeks later they dont have the same discount from a manufacturer as during the sale week.

Our HT also has 3 items PC policy.

I think that's all they're issueing anymore for any deal. That is what they have been writing on mine for quite a while now. Is it fair that you can buy however many you want if they are in stock and only get 3 on a raincheck? IDK, but I guess they can limit if they want. I take it you don't live near one. I will just go in everyday and get more rainchecks, but I live near quite a few, so it's no big deal. Sorry they won't work with ya.

I forgot to check the date on the tag, the sale could extend far beyond June 21st. This is a new and GOOD feature at HT and other chains (sale items that stay on sale for a period of time)

Yes a sale item is considered a deal.
I personally don't feel that all sales are deals.
The 3 deals per RC rule has been for a quite a while now, at least 6 months.
And yes they are losing money when they issue the Rain Checks and it is cashed in. Just like Vica said. I would rather have a 3 limit than a 30 day expiration date.

Also if the "deal" is 2/$5 then my store says I get 6 because 3 of the deals =6 in quantity.
    I haven't tested it on a 10/$10....

Also don't always depend on the dates on the sale tags...I have seen them pulled early at HT and LF, FL....

As anyone tested the waters on this?

I have some rainchecks that are over 4 years old.
    I assume they are good.

I don't mind the limit of 3 at all.
I do have coupons that are for 30 (Lunchables, 10/$10), so they will let you get the full 3 deals if you're so inclined.

As a PP stated, I would MUCH rather have a limit of 3, than a Lowes raincheck that expires in 30 days.
