    QUESTION We no longer carry....?

Has anyone else noticed or maybe it's just me, that HT is getting rid of or no longer carrying more and more products? I have been couponing for about 2 years now but have been shopping for many more and it just seems like they don't carry as many products as before. As I had mentioned before, single paper towel rolls. I always thought that was the difference between the big box stores like walmart. If you are only going the carry the paper towels in bulk, then why not just go to walmart? They hardly carry any Dixie paper products. They don't carry the travel cups in Dixie or Chinet anymore. There are only a few napkins they carry now. They didn't carry the gingerbread coffemate this Chirstmas. NEstle caramel filled ready to bake cookies (or "Devil Cookies" as I like to call them), the small cans of Campbells chunky soups. Anyway just wondering if else has noticed or could give any insight as to why?

Probably for some items, they quit carrying them because they can't really move them. I know someone mentioned that coupon events are the only times that they sell the Viva PT single rolls, for instance, and probably at a loss considering the doubling factor.

I think HT puts considerable effort into carrying a variety of wines and specialty foods, stocking the fresh food buffet, etc. because they're trying to be known as a more upscale market. They pay attention to what they sell and when they sell it, and it may not be cost effective to carry a wide variety of some products, especially if they are perishable and have to be thrown out when they're expired. A lot of the paper goods and general grocery items are just too expensive to buy at HT on a regular basis, and people have noted that with the poor economy.

I did notice that they have a sad selction of Snack Pack flavors compared to Kroger. And no cookies n cream skinny cow. Just random things that they don't have much variety in.

Specifically Welchs Refrigerated juice I asked the dairy manager about that and he said the ONLY time they sold that was triple coupons.

It isn't just Harris Teeter wanting to carry, but the manufactures have to pay for shelf space at stores, so it may not totally be up to HT in all cases. I am sure they have to pick and choose, but a company also has to decide if it is worth it for them to pay to be on the shelves if not much product is being ordered from them.

Thank you. I got Catalinas and EVICs for Organic Valley Dairy products from my HT store and they don't even carry them.

My store only carries the whipping cream and MAYBE the cream cheese....The bigger stores carry more items than my store. Also Lowes Foods carried the cottage cheese and sour cream that my stores don't carry and they take HT catalinas.

There used to be Bi-Lo's in W-S, but they were all closed about 5+ years ago.
