Probably for some items, they quit carrying them because they can't really move them. I know someone mentioned that coupon events are the only times that they sell the Viva PT single rolls, for instance, and probably at a loss considering the doubling factor.
I think HT puts considerable effort into carrying a variety of wines and specialty foods, stocking the fresh food buffet, etc. because they're trying to be known as a more upscale market. They pay attention to what they sell and when they sell it, and it may not be cost effective to carry a wide variety of some products, especially if they are perishable and have to be thrown out when they're expired. A lot of the paper goods and general grocery items are just too expensive to buy at HT on a regular basis, and people have noted that with the poor economy.
I did notice that they have a sad selction of Snack Pack flavors compared to Kroger. And no cookies n cream skinny cow. Just random things that they don't have much variety in.
