Apparently corporate came down on them about 6 months ago for not enforcing the coupon policy and unfortunately it made them turn in to the coupon police. Told me its the manufacturers cracking down bec using a coupon on a free item would be coupon fraud. Nonsense! Its 100% for HT benefit. First of all, its not free when my receipt says 50%. Second, HT is choosing to sell the item at BOGO and even if my receipt shows 0, I still met the purchase requirements. Im running in to the same issue at the other HT you mentioned and the one in Apex. The manager at HT in Apex was a real jerk a few weeks ago when he refused the Libbys Fruit coupon on pineapple.

Ive been buying 1 BOGO item at a time to get around this but unfortunately that only works for $/1 coupons. Its not a pleasure to shop there anymore.

Sorry for your frustration, Im right there with you! Whats up with the rude managers these days?! I always remain polite bec I think you can accomplish more that way than throwing a tantrum (burns me up inside, Id love to yell and tell them straight )
I will avoid that store from now on. This was not my first bad experience. I've had many there. There are soo many HTs within an easy driving distance from me that I rather drive a little further than have chest pain.

The above is the way it is in my area and we have 3 stores within maybe 12 miles.

Your goal was to save 85%.
Had you gone ahead and gotten 5 more cans you would have saved 72.5%.

I'm sure you were not thinking about the above, but 10 cans for $2.20 ain't bad.
    (10 x .80 = 8.00 less sale price = 10 cans for the price of 4 = $3.20 less $1/4 coupon = $2.20)

I do not know the regular price, so the 80 cents is estimated.

At MY stores, had the $1/4 been an internet coupon it would have opened up a whole new possible issue, as some IP's will scan and some will not. My stores say "if it won't scan, you can place it in the nearest trash can, we won't take it." (or go to a competitor)

I have to agree with you on the manager who is kinda slightly large and had curly hair. She alwas pushes the cashiers aside and checks everything like a hawk to see if she can reject a coupon.Maybe I can get her name and we can call to HT and complain?I liver pretty close to that store.

We have a few "white shirt" Coupon Commandos here in N VA areas too. Gainesville and Bristow, VA stores to be specific. I don't shop at these stores either.

In N VA areas, the best and friendliest coupon stores I have found are in Warrenton, Fairfax (Pender Campus), and Ashburn, VA stores. Usually if the "white shirt" is on duty they are either a CS Front End Supervisor or Asst. Manager. Asst. Managers/Managers "white shirts" are over the CS "white shirt" clerks, etc. I just notice who are the best "white shirts" and write down their names and call beforehand to see if they are working sometimes when I have deals to do especially on SD(s)/Triples sales.

That usually helps to avoid coupon conflicts although not always if you can get your "fav" "white shirt". I have also emailed corporate and told them who were the most helpful and cordial to me when I shopped. Also, mention their good service to the Store Managers, etc.

I'm an Apex shopper here and have pretty much stopped shopping at the Haddon Hall location altogether, though I do make occasional emergency stops when I don't have time to drive to the other locations due to several issues with the tall blonde white shirt. I have complained to corporate about her twice- on the second occasion, the store manager called me personally to discuss which was a welcome surprise. He also gave me a $10 gift card as an apology for the embarrassment but I still avoid the store because she's still working there and my experiences with her were so unpleasant and embarrassing.

I tend to stick with the store on High House and 55 and I too love the 2 african-american gentlemen who work there and the white haired store manager. I think I've had a couple of issues with the lady y'all have, but she wasn't rude about it so I just shrugged my shoulders and voided whatever coupon purchases were at issue. They had a very coupon friendly white shirt (blonde, medium length hair) who now works at the Cary Park location. I shop at the Cary Park location when I need to make stops before or after picking up my stepdaughters from school as it's convenient. And it's always nice to see her! She knows my daughters' names and is just very pleasant to deal with.

I also sometimes shop at the High House/Davis location but not too often. They are not the most coupon friendly HT around...for that, I really do think the High House/55 location takes top honors. I would say too that were it not for the tall blonde white shirt who frequently misinterprets their coupon policy that the Haddon Hall location is right up there too. I think if she stopped working there, I would be in there quite frequently as it is a very clean location staffed for the most part with friendly and helpful cashiers.

My coupon gripe with HT is that they don't allow a $X/2 coupon to be used with a BOGO sale, BUT their register doesn't ring up as Buy One, Get One Free, but rather 50% off. If they ring up at 50% off (and there is a cost on the receipt), I should be able to use my $X/2 coupon, as it wasn't FREE, see there is a cost here.

If they really want to enforce the not using a $X/2 Q, then their register should ring up FULL PRICE and Zero.

The logic on the $1/2 is that you are not "paying for two", and coupons are only supposed to be used on items you pay for.

It really gets hairy with the B2G3 sales.

The 50% off each item is nice, but it can become an issue on rainchecks and with some members of management.

You have to explain that the store being out of the item, was the reason you did not get to use your coupons, and hope they ring the items up at half price at your suggestion.
