QUESTION Turkey - Help me decide please:)

I have the Guiness rebate for $20 off a turkey, ham or a deli platter.

Would I be better off buying a Butterball turkey at $1.29 a pound to satisfy this rebate and not have the buy the $40 or buying the $40 and a $.39lb turkey and sending in the $5 Mondavi Turkey rebate?

    Decisions...decisions....

I won't have anything else to buy for the Guiness rebate if I don't use it on the turkey....

I have lots of free coupons so could get the total to $40 with little OOP but do I want to use up all my frees.

    Any help?

I would do both. I think fresh turkey tastes better than frozen, so I'd buy a $20 fresh and do the Guinness. I'd then buy a $5 frozen do the Mondavi rebate and donate the turkey. I've called a few food banks in my area and they are all taking turkey donations! Everyone wins.

I'm going to buy Turkey breasts for the smaller turkey rebates. Those are great to throw in the crockpot for an easy supper.

I totally get where you're coming from...I can only serve Turkey once a year. I bought 2 turkeys one year and gave away the second 2 years later it was buried in my freezer.

For me I would do the cheaper turkey and then buy a ham or two to do the other rebate. I have 2 turkey/ham $3/$10 -then 2 of that Thanksgiving rebate...luckily the Thanksgiving one takes other stuff besides just turkey and I used veggies mostly for it. I can get away will a few hams a year but that turkey...nope-we just aren't turkey eaters-at least that kind. Plus the Hams never get that cheap so it is easier to spend a little more for it.

I like that idea...I was kinda forgetting that we could just eat ham at a regular meal

I went and bought the 39cents lb turkey last night and still ended up spending $16 after coupons and everything. I don't think I have spent $16 in a one grocery trip in a very long time, but hey, we have our turkey now:)
