    QUESTION Raincheck BOGO Deal Question

I recently had a raincheck for BOGO salsa. I wanted to redeem it during Super Doubles with a coupon I had. It turns out that the salsa was on sale for $2 (instead of $3 regular price). I figured I'd use the raincheck anyway because it would be $1.50 each instead of $2.

When I went to the register, they rang up the salsa as $3 for the first, and $0 for the second. Then the computer automatically deducted an additional $1 for the sale that was underway. So I ended up getting two salsas for $2... (plus my $1/2 coupon doubled making it free)... is this supposed to happen? Did I accidentally "cheat" the system by having the BOGO raincheck and the sale price take off my bill at the same time? Or is this just a beautiful thing about rainchecks at Harris Teeter?

If it is legit, then I have another question... Progresso soup is currently on sale, BOGO... each soup is to ring up half price automatically (according to the ad). I also have a raincheck for B2G3... will these deals combine? Like I'd pay half price for two and get the other three for free??? (Combined with a coupon, this would be insane!)

Thanks for your help... I love saving money, but I just want to make sure I'm doing it legitimately!

what made the salsa deal work for you was:
    1. the sale price
    2. they were having SD's
    3. you had a $1/2 coupon.

As you saw, one rang up at $3 and the other as $0.00. This is the way they ring up B1G1 free rainchecks.

If you had bought that salsa the week it was on sale, B1G1 free, they would have each rung up at half price.
The have to manually ring up RC B1G1 free items, and usually they do not. I have had mixed results asking them to.

But with the B2G3 RC they should ring up 2 at the regular price and 3 free.
If you had gotten that deal when they were on sale (before you got the raincheck) all 5 would have rung up at half price.

You can "plan" on them ringing up 2 at regular price and 3 at 0.00.

    Thanks.

B2G3 soup is still better than BOGO, so even if the deals don't combine, I'm still happy with B2G3 and my coupon (though it's a $1 coupon, so I should've used it during SDs... doh!)
