I don't think I spent less than $40 before the turkey...
Turkey before discount was $19.97
After discount was $5.60
Total was $73.13 before coupons
$73.13-$19.97=$53.16

Can somebody confirm if cost of turkey is included in $40, please.
klenex and other nonfood items are not included?
What about alcohol?
The only place I've seen mention of a "non-food" exclusion is that Facebook answer. They also said after coupons, which turned out to be wrong.
They would need to state in the ad that it excludes non-food items, or they'd have hissy fits at the register. It doesn't say anything is excluded, and others are reporting scenarios that include non-food.
Sounds to me like that Harris Teeter's FB person doesn't know what they are talking about.
JMO...
The ad specifically says "with additional $40 purchase". That means the price of the turkey is not included in the $40.
LOL, I'd have to agree with you. I was never so happy to be wrong (or, to have the HT Facebook people to be wrong) - it worked fine last night. Total q's and e-vic savings redeemed: $72.74; OOP: $21.22; weight of turkey purchased for under $9: 22 lbs!![]()
I don't know if part of my turkey purchase counted towards the $40 total or not because of the way the receipt came out (the turkey was rung up early on in my order but the price adjustment is shown right underneath it). But no matter - I stocked up on items we actually needed and will use, and got a huge bird for cheap, which is good - looks like we may have 12 people for dinner.![]()

I got mine yesterday. My total was $41.52 AC, but that includes the cost of the turkey. Without the turkey it would have been $35.78. Also, much to my surprise, I found a WT for $1 off a turkey, so I wound up paying less than $5 for a 14-lb bird.
Went and picked up my turkey this morning - much hilariousness ensued. (Not really, but I am trying to have a positive attitude).
At the Williamsburg VA store on Quarterpath, the turkeys .45/lb for the special price, not the .39/lb other people are getting. Additionally, the $40 DOES NOT include the price of the turkey. To make things even more difficult...er, I mean fun, the turkey MUST be rung up AFTER all of the other items, otherwise it will ring up at the regular price of .79/lb.
Then the cashier will tell you it's your fault that they didn't wring the turkey up in the correct order AND then tell you that you are out of luck because this was your 5th transaction so if they cancel it, you can't do another one to have the turkey rung up AFTER all of the other items. When you tell the cashier to just cancel the order then and that you will come back in on Monday to see if they have any turkeys left, the front end manager will get involved and have the transaction transferred to the front desk to try to fix the problem but in doing so, no $3 catalina for the Kleenex deal will print out because they don't have a catalina machine at the front desk.
So then you leave, figuring that with all the great deals you do get at Harris Teeter, you will eat the $3 on this transaction. However, you feel like a rube because you would have never paid that much for Kleenex in the "real world." You are just grateful for the .45/lb turkey and the fact that what seemed to be turning into an unpleasant moment was fixed by a quick thinking manager.
Email catalina, they will send you the $3 OYNO cat and I usually receive mine in a week of asking. Here is the thread on how to get hold of them.
