    HOT Rude Manager

    Day 2 of Super Doubles = Day 2 of Super Rude Manager at my local HT.

    She is hostile and obnoxious. The worst customer service I've had in a grocery store. She analyzes every little inch on every coupon and tries her best to find a way to exclude them, rolling her eyes, frowning, and making huffy noises the whole time. Yesterday she rejected 10 of my coupons, telling me I had cut them out wrong! I asked for the store manager, who promptly accepted my coupons. Today she glared at me and came to the register where I was checking out and proceeded to pick up all the coupons the cashier had just scanned and analyze them! Ugh!

    The whole experience made me anxious and stressed. I called corporate to complain, which I have never done before.

    I will not go back to that HT. (At least not during the day. )

    Been there done that!

    Oh wouldn't do me to put up with that anymore... I would graciously ask at a higher tone (so, others could hear) , do you have a problem with couponers or is it just my coupons? Because obviously one or the other puts you in a bad mood and that does not represent this store too kindly as Harris Teeter spends millions of dollars to advertise they are coupon friendly doing promos such as "Super Doubles" & "Triples".


    Seriously...if she rubbed me the wrong way...I would not hesitate to do it & when customers start speaking up like that, they will think twice about who they target and harrass to avoid from being embarrassed. Definitely has worked for me!

    yeah, people who are rude like that are usually quick to change their tone when you speak up

    I would a called and complained too! As long as the barcodes are there and the expiration is there all is good. What if you had parkinsons or something? Then you couldnt help the way you cut them. That would be discrimination and i wouldnt put up with it!

    Ouch! I would definitely go to a different store or at a different time, if possible...

    Wow, I would definitely complain to corporate. That is not the norm at HT. I've never had an issue with coupons. "You cut them out wrong???!!!" OMG! What a reason to reject a coupon. Sounds like some retraining is in order. Every time she gives you a hassle I'd call the store manager up right there and then, then contact corporate as well.

    HT prides themselves on customer service....this is not normal for them.

    Get her name and call the store and ask if she is working and only shop when she is not there! Tell the store manager how she treats you, and email corporate. Next time - whip out your camera and video her actions and email it to corporate. And agreed, ask her loudly what exactly the issue is.

    I personally have the greatest HT in the world - they just opened and are in a pretty ritzy neighborhood. They are all incredibly nice to me. But hey WHAT DO they care - it does not come out of their paychecks????????? The store is reimbursed by the manufacturer - does anyone realize the amount of money that couponers put back in the economy - from the graphic designer who makes the ad in the Sunday paper, to the guy who prints it, to the newspaper delivery person, then the person at HT whose job it is to sort and submit the coupons, to the person at HT who receives and deposits said check.

    That manager is not just ruining your experience but is jeopardizing A LOT of jobs! Ask her if she would like for you to call the corporate coupon people and ask them if they would no longer like a job because you and your coupons are going someplace else???

    But in the end - forgetabbouther. Don't let her deter you from getting your deals and working the system! Oh and the reply to you cut it wrong is - "Wow that is a new one - wait til my coupon club hears this one? What are you talking about? how is that even possible? - woowee - what is your name? Oh are we going to a get a laugh about this one?" And leave!

    She is in VA area, I believe.

    If you are in N VA area, and the HT store in question is Gainesville, VA store, I concur. That store is horrid with their CS "White Shirt" Manager. Seek out the Store Manager/Asst. Store Managers for help and complain.

    I shop at the Fairfax and Warrenton, VA N VA stores with great luck and service by all staff, cashiers, CS Desk personnel, managers, etc.

    Never had any issues at the HT I shop at. The one off West End.
