I love my HT about 90% of the time.

Today was not one of them. They had most everything I had coupons for but this one cashier...

I did my transaction and tried to purchase 2 Lysols toliet cleaners (B1G1) and 6 Ziploc containers (B1G1). I had a $1/2 for the lysol and $1.50/2 for the Ziploc.

I had already bagged my own groceries and was waiting for the cashier to run the coupons, and she loudly announced I could NOT use the $1.50/2 Ziploc coupons. I whispered I had used them earlier in the week and didn't have a problem because the products rang up half price. She calls a manager over who is usually the sweetest in the world. Needless to say I gave them the ziplocs back.

I feared saying anything about the $X/2 because the lysols rang up just fine.


I *know* what the policy says, but why aren't they consititate in following this policy?

What is worst, I finally talked hubby into going with me and I am pretty dern sure he will never venture out withe me again.

I try not to get upset when they do stuff like that. I just have them take it off my order and give me my coupons back KNOWING I can use them when I go back one of the other zillions of times I go.

Most likely they see a TON of the Ziplocs going through and it probably brought a red flag up to someone....I mean with the coupons being in the containers, the tearpads for $1/2 right on the display and the $1.50/2, $1/1, $$.55/1 insert coupons out there they are on high alert.

It happened to me this morning, too. I just asked him to take the items off. He apologized. I told him I felt it was okay because it was still one coupon per 2 items, but I understood his position. I thought it was nice of him to apologize.

I obviously didn't mention I was going down the road to the next HT to use those same coupons.

It's a dumb rule, but the cashiers have to do what they feel best. There's always (usually) a next time!

I don't let it bother me either, just ask them to take it off. I had a cashier tell me yesterday that if I was buying just 1 Lysol wipes I couldn't use the $1/1 coupon. I had to buy 2 in order to be able to use 1 coupon. First she said it was because it was super doubles, then came back and said it was because they were b1g1. I just asked her to take it off even though I know I should be able to buy 1 item and use 1 coupon even if it is b1g1. It just isn't worth a fight sometimes.

It really is a pointless rule. It would make sense if their BOGOs rang up as a true BOGO. A $/2 coupon will not even go through the register if one of the items rings up as 0.00.

So I guess it makes sense for those stores out there that do ring up BOGOs as true BOGOF instead of 2 at half price, but you'd think they'd want to get all their stores on the same page.

none of our stores ever allow this, so I don't even try it. :( While I was there on Friday, I watched two cashiers tell two different people the same thing- 4 coupons for one $x/2 coupon on a bogo sale. Botpeh ople went back to regroup. You'd think they'd learn that they're losing customers - because my stores are not nice, or apologetic about it. They act like you are trying to steal from them or something.

I have never had an issue with the $/2. Chips ahoy and ziploc had those coupons and ive used em all week. She did mention to me to check my lysol coupon she was like is it the $1/2. Evidently people have been trying to use that one on just getting one. I was like nope i got this one wich was a hangtag from a lysol product i got in an envie a while back. it was $1/1. We also have only one HT in our area currently I guess they wanna stay #1.

I have learned to fly under the radar. I used one 1.50/2 Ziploc in my order and kept the other one for another order. I also learned which cashier to go to at my HT. The best ones are the young high school and college boys. They just don't care about coupons!

Ive had difff cashiers alot of times but the same people work all the time it seems. there is one older woman who is really really really slow. I try and avoid her because it takes forever and a day to scan 20 coupons. I had the $1/1 lysol and got one lysol just fine at my store. She thought i had the $1/2 and asked because evidently people were trying to pass that through with just getting one. Still cheap when you buy 2 and use it. But the $1/1 makes one even cheaper. Prob if i got more then one and had more then one $1/1 coupon then theyd prob say i needed 4 items to use 2 coupons. But i just only got one lysol. I guess it just depends who ya get. ive never had an issue at my store. so far so good for me.

i had $1/1 ziploc and it worked fine .. i got tons of containers.. my ht is so nice.. i have 5 HT around me and there is one that is soo horrible and thats right down the street. i go out of my way to go to the other two further away and never have any issues thank god...
