They are delicious. I got some last night for a fruit salad I was making for Sunday School today and I loved them. They are rock hard which I love and they are sweet/tart and juicy! Similar to a Gala but better I think. Make sure you get all 5 lbs at once. I made the mistake of only getting two apples last night and when I went back for more today, it wouldn't work. I tried to argue my case but to no avail. I think I will get some more anyway just because they were awesome and on sale anyway.

Well mom cut all my inserts all week and I can't find the Washer Or Dishwasher Magic q's. I hope my store has some hangtags or I will not be able to get any. She swore she cut everything but I think she missed something?

I think i got over 4 lb of FREE Jazz apples today ($.99/lb evic price, 5 lb), don't ask me why, I can't figure it out myself.

here how it looks on my receipt:
Jazz Apples
4.43 lb @ 1.79/lb = 7.93
VIC Jazz apples 3.10-B
eVIC Jazz Apples 6.94-B

Paid $7.32 Total for 3 items (cleaner $4.99 and eggs $.99), tax $.35

btw, they are delicious

1 celery
2 chicken strips
2 organic chicken tenders (marked down)
4 lemons
1 bag of onions
3 Cocoa Pebbles (3 kids =1 box each)
1 Rold Gold Cheddar pretzels (can you tell I had a kid with me?)

I paid....
$19.85, $9.xx and $7.xx
I will get $15 back in rebates though.
MY son couldnt beleive it he says I need to go to a coupon rehab class cause I seem to be spending a lot.

Anyways, I don't like mcintosh or red delicious, well heck, I really only like Honey Crisp for eating apples, but I had read someone said to do a mixture of apples when making applesauce...So I got those plus I had some in my frige from last week at LF when I needed 2 apples for a dish and it was cheaper to buy a rewrap thing at LF but it also had 2 pears. I peeled and cut them all (well I left some skins on not all) threw them in a pot and some applejuice...And this lady was right! It does make some good applesauce. If anyone is interested, this is the site (specifically the applesauce recipe I scaled down) I have been using this site for A LOT of my canning recipes lately. It is a good site with all sorts of things like Pick Your own farms, organic places...and a lot of good recipes and knowledge with lots of pictures.
Yup, I always use a mix of apples for applesauce, really makes the flavor so much better! I don't even use applejuice for fluid, I barely add enough water to cover the bottom of the pan only, no matter how many pounds of apples I'm cooking down. But I do add TONS of cinnamon

Need to get out to the farmers market and see if they have any apples - they're always a good deal there and I need to make more, only one more frozen container left of prior batches

I forgot to get my apples today! Ack! In my defense, I have a very very sore tooth and am going to call in the morning to make an appt to get the root canal I've been putting off!

I did get:

1 more bag of Goldfish chocolate grahams - .75/1 IP makes them .16 - woohoo!
1 more bag of Goldfish mix-ups (Cheddar/pretzel) minus $1 salty snack WT = .66
3 bottles of Fuze - .75/1 tear pad found at gas station on Friday = .19 ea
Horizon milk (needed) - .55/1 coupon = $2.49

Yesterday I got 2 more free Dan-o-ninos and 2 more free Colgate toothbrushes with my expiring coupons (and also added to the Healthy Smile rewards)

Depending on when I can go to the dentist, I will definitely get by there tomorrow or Tuesday to get my apples, though!

Oh, and a suggestion for those of you with older kids - the Dan-o-ninos make terrific little popsicle snacks! My son could finish one in 2 bites regularly but when they're frozen it takes longer for him to eat it plus it's much better than a regular popsicle.

Default Re: What are you buying this week ending 7/20

They definitely goofed on the programming of the EVIC special for the Jazz apples. Instead of charging $.99/lb; they are charging $.99 regardless of the amount you purchase. I bought 4 lbs because I was too lazy to go the scale (The limit was 5 lbs. and I was estimating how much I had). I didn't realize what happened until I got home and checked my receipt.
