Harris Teeter ~ Other: I need cereal!

We have finally run through our 28 boxes of Special K varieties that I got a few months ago on special sales/coupons.

I think the coupons were for 2 boxes each and almost free with BOGO and couponing.....I know I used 2 coupons per day for them and got as many as I could with that (used the 3rd coupon for Special K cereal bars).....just clarifying all of that so you know I played by the rules.

I didn't realize we were low until it was too late.

So, I have been paying $2 for Harris Teeter brands but really need some DEALS.

The last 2 weeks of HT deals haven't shown any cereal.....am I missing something?

Funny, we are really low on certain cereals too. I am totally out of Cheerios and down to my last box of Frosted Mini Wheats, but as you say, there have not been any appealing deals lately. Hopefully soon...

lol I make sure to pay attention when I get under 10 boxes and start looking then, you never know what you will find. stupid thing is, I found peelies last week for $1/1 any kelloggs cereal that were new peelies, and they were EXPIRED!! they expired 4/30/2010!! BUT THEY WERE JUST PUT ON THE BOXES!! someone was holding out on them. I realized it when I was prepared to come to ht and do the $5 off 5 kelloggs cereals thingy they had going on to make it an awesome deal, but alas no such luck. I don't see anything this week for cereals, mostly desert and cookout stuff this week.

if there is a GM cereals deal anywhere, you can use the multitude of printables or the .50/1 cheerios to get them for less than $2 a box. I would choke if I had to pay $2 a box for cereal

I paid $.90 a box last week for HN Cheerios at LF...They had 2 other kinds on sale too that were less than $1 with coupon but I don't remember which GM it was...I only got the HN Cheerios.

food lion has GM cereals at BOGO. I got lucky charms for 1.22 a box with the $1 off 2. And there are printables of lucky charms and cheerios the honey nut type. Id look at food lion prob. I read that HT had $1 off kellogs but i dont know the official price. Half the ones n sale are the ones recalled! lol.

Thanks. There is only one Food Lion near me and I rarely go in because it is kind of gross......but I do need cereal.

Does FL double coupons?

Does FL have the 3 coupons of a kind per day rule?

Dawn -

Most FL stores do not double coupons (a few do, so you could call the one close to you and ask - but odds are they don't).

As far as how many per day - they don't have an official written policy regarding how many. So you should be able to use several - however, many FL managers/cashiers/csrs are very prone to make up their own rules as you go along so they may tell you no if you try to use more than about 3 or 4 of the same. My advice is to try to make several trips over a few days if you possibly can.

Ok, got some cereal.

I stopped at Target for something else and they had their 1 pound (large) boxes of Cheerios for $2.49 each on sale. Then, on each box was a $1 coupon. I got 6 boxes of the large boxes for $1.49 each.

Not free, but a good deal.

I should have gotten more, but I wasn't sure I could do more than one per customer and once I knew I was too tired to go back through the line with my kids.

I will check out the FL deal tomorrow.

food lion has the lucky charms, trix. cocoa puffs (i think) and cinamon toast crunch as the BOGO. There are blinkies for 75/2 of cinamon toast crunch. Or 55 cent off lucky charms printable. There might also be mfq $1/2 I think I only had one of these.
Next week cvs is having a sale on post cereals 3/$10 get 5 ECB back too.

I was trying to stay away from high sugar cereal, but then I brought home the cheerios and my HUSBAND turned up his nose and said, "Oh, they are only the PLAIN ones?"
