HT jacked up prices on Ribeyes just for the holiday

Holy moly! I know we have talked before about HT raising prices during Triples/Super Doubles etc.

Well, my husband went to HT last night to get some ribs that were on sale for dinner. He was walking by the ribeyes and picked up a pkg of 2 ribeyes and the price sticker on the pkg was $16.82. YOWZA! He then noticed that the $16.82 sticker was on crooked and that there was another price sticker below it. He pulled it up and the price sticker read $9.73!! That's a huge markup just for the holiday weekend!

That is ridiculous. I would have asked for the Store Manager and told them if they keep gouging the prices they will lose a lot of customers. I would tell them that word of mouth speaks volumes and that I was going to tell everyone what they are doing and they will lose business. Nobody wants to get ripped off and I probably wouldn't buy anything that I came for except the free stuff i would get with coupons. Word of mouth is important to retailers and they won't like that especially if you tell them you will post it on the internet, whoops you already did, lol It is their fault. I am sorry this happened to your DH and the disappointment of the prices you got.

Thanks! You're so sweet! He actually didn't buy them. We stuck with the $1.28/lb ribs which were yum! :)

I imagine they probably make a killing off of people who decide last minute to grab a steak and head over to a friends house and grill out with them. You know these people aren't paying attention to the prices.

I'm not shocked at all. I see alot of customers at my HT pay outrageous prices for cereal, produce and meat.

the prices before coupons i wouldnt imagine paying that much for that amount of stuff! crazy that people actually do that! Ive never noticed anything like that. Maybe if the store has high theft they are trying to make up for it or the management is to save their butt. Id call corporate and see if it was even allowed. reminds me of gas gouging.
