Harris Teeter ~ Question: Question about using BOGO and another coupon with it

I found BOGO blinkies while shopping at Harris Teeter yesterday on International Delights Coffee creamer. I grabbed 4 bottles for 1.99 each. Then I tried to use my coupons and they looked like this:
4 Bottles for 1.99 each =7.96
-2 BOGO Blinkie = 3.98
-2 .55/1 (doubled) from 03-07 Smart source =2.2
7.96-3.98-2.2=1.78...Not bad for 4 creamers cause it would be about .44 cents each.

So I got to the cashier and I was told that I couldn't use my .55/1 qs because I was already using my BOGO blinkies....I didn't argue because I wasnt sure if its one of those YYMV or I was just plain wrong.

Can someone tell me if I did something wrong with my math trying to use a BOGO and another q with it? Thanks for all the help!!

Sometimes it helps if you are buying a lot of items and not just using 4 or 5 coupons. Part of the problem with those specific coupons is those ID $.55/1 coupons are coded to beep no matter how you are using them. Usually when I use a bogoQ and a q for the one I am 'paying' for I try and use the bogo Q first then the $./1 coupon. I haven't had any problems but my store knows me REALLY well and they (for the most part) just scan my coupons no questions asked.

I have found when using any bogo blinkie specifically, when I try to use any other coupon on the product that I am "paying" for, they beep reguardless. so maybe just be prepared for it and see if you can talk you way out of it. also, like uummm stated, try and do this when you are using a lot of coupons. and use the bogo ones first then the $/# last. I usually hold them in my hand. then give them when all is done. some cashiers like to pick out the bogo coupons and do them last for some reason. so I hold them in the order that I want them scanned. definitely a ymmv situation

I always used the $ off before the BOGO's. My theory is it works that way. cuz they scan the money off. Then the BOGO and they have to enter the price. Ive only done it at cvs though not harris teeter yet.

If I get a hard time, I lay out the items and place each coupon on it to show them that it's one coupon per item . . sometimes it works, sometime it don't, just depends which store and which manager.

At HT, I've only had one of the many HT stores I shop at give me a hard time about the combination use of BOGO and $/1 before. I avoid 'her' now when I shop at that one store that I've had a problem with, as it was just one cashier who is a coupon grinch.

You all know the kind, they study each coupon like their life depended on it.........ugh.

Little off topic - but I have this one "grinch" in Kernersville - usually at self checkout. Inspects every coupon, pulls out ones she thinks are "questionable" and call management over - who asks "did it scan?" To which I pip up "she hasn't even tried."

During super doubles, I had the Mystic Pizza coupons. She inspects it, asks me if I had photocopied it because it's in b/w. (I don't waste colored ink on coupons).

I was just in one-of-those-moods, wasn't feeling well, . . so told her "if you are accusing me of fraud, then you better call the manager over here RIGHT NOW, so I can tell him/her that you are." She replied "well it scans and I don't really care."

Most of the cashiers I have ran into at my HT are in my opinion "coupon grinches".LOL.
