Harris Teeter ~ Other My Local HT is Closing :(

I live in a small town and HT is where I get most of my good deals. It is the only place that doubles/triples coupons. Other than Walmart, I have a Food Lion that is NOT coupon friendly. I am sooo upset. My food budget is going to be so much higher than I want/need it to be!

I would be in tears if my local HT closed. My mom's local HT closed about two years ago and she has to travel to shop there. Maybe you can find another HT to shop at.

Unfortunately, the closest one is about an hour away. I may start going to Kroger more often though as it is a little closer at 30 miles.

there was a story that HT was losing market share.
I hope they don't have to go bankrupt like Winn Dixie or go into bankruptcy like Bi-Lo.
In your case they may be losing market share is areas with the most competition. If Food Food Lion and Walmart are putting it to HT in your area and other small towns, HT may be forced to close certain stores.
Sad. I'll tell you how important HT and Bi-Lo are to me. I don't buy food at Walmart, MAYBE a bunch of bananas if I'm there for some other reason, other than that they are tied for last on my food list, tied with Target.

I'm sorry to hear that. :sad: Hopefully you'll be able to combine trips to Kroger with other errands to make it worthwhile. I detest shopping at WalMart and Food Lion too.

I hate Walmart !!I would die if my HT closed down! Luckily the ones in Raleigh/cary NC are doing really well.

I am so sorry I know exactly how you feel. I had the best HT on my way home from work and was there all the time but there was also a bilo and food lion and HT was in a area that wasn't very nice. It was there for over 20 years and closed down. I was so sad and pass it every day and it's still empty. I have to drive 30 miles to the closest ht

lovedx2, I drive almost a 45 minute drive one way to get to my closest one....all I have to choose from is Foodlions and Walmart. Hope you can work it out....
