I was able to print 2 using the backspace button I believe. In the ad it says limit 10 - is that for the length of the ad or just transaction?

I have gotten 10 so far but that was with 0.50/1 Homemailers. I plan on getting 10 more with IP's I have printed. I printed two per computer I have. I just hope I can get back to the store before the sale ends. The limit of 10 is per day not the whole week.

technically, they should refuse the coupon since 4 are not being bought.

but if you buy the limit of 10 you buy 4 and only use one coupon

I know that his is how my store will roll - they only allow one Q in this situation unfortunately, but ymmv.

If you wish to obtain multiples of an Internet printed coupon there are ways to do so. You can trade for them, go to the library, or perhaps use computers at work or ask friends and family to print for you.
