Harris Teeter ~ Question: How many like coupons can you use if you don't double them?

Just curious.

I thought if you weren't doubling, you could use as many as you wanted.....but when I tried to use 4 coupons for hair color the manager told me I could only use 3.....they were NOT part of the super doubles.

What is the official policy on this?

Good question--I was told at the same store two different things by two different managers.

I have been told 3 for each variety of the item you were getting.

I don't think there is a limit. They will double 20 coupons and after that they are redeemed at face value. Also, they will double up to 3 identical coupons and all others will be honored at face value.


Their official policy states:

Doubling
We accept 20 double coupons per day per customer/household with VIC card; all others redeemed at face value. No orders may be separated that would allow the 20 coupon limit to be exceeded.
We double manufacturer’s coupons up to face value of $0.99; with total amount not to exceed $1.98 or entire retail of item; whichever is less.
We double up to three identical items with manufacturer coupon; additional coupons for like item will be honored at face value.
No competitor coupons will be doubled or tripled.
In the event of triple coupons, up to 20 coupons will be tripled per day per customer/household with VIC card; all others redeemed at face value. No orders may be separated that would allow the 20 coupon limit to be exceeded.

You can only use 3 like coupons for 3 like items. YMMV when you use 3 coupons for each variety of the same products. As for IP, you can only 2.

It seems from this policy that you CAN use more than 3, they just won't be doubled.

I had 8 total coupons for this item.

I went one day to one HT and used 4 of them without a problem.

A couple days later I went to a different HT and had 4 more and they only let me use 3 and told me I couldn't use more than 3 even if it couldn't be doubled.

But then, as she (the manager) walked away, she commented that she was still not sure about all the coupon policies.

If the official policy is below, it looks like the second manager was not correct.

The "3 like coupons" only refers to doubling/tripling. Read the coupon policy terms carefully. It specifically states "double up to 3 identical items with mfr coupon, additional coupons like item will be honored at face value"

So, if you have (5) 0.75/1 Colgate only the first (3) will be doubled, the other (2) will have to be overridden (is that a word?) to give you face value also.

So, it shouldn't matter about those coupons that don't double/triple.

I used 5 Hormel Cure 81 $3 coupons, no problems taking them.

I think some of the cashiers, managers are confused about their own policy. A few months ago when I was having this problem, I had the manager walk with me to the policy and read it with me on the CS counter. She appologized and said she needed to reinform her staff because she had read it wrong; it clearly says all others will be redeemed at face value.

It isn't a huge deal because the next store had more of the item the next day....I am now fully stocked with the haircolor brand/kind I like for at least 12 months, possibly 18 months!

Not that I *need* haircolor mind you.....nope, not me.....
