Harris Teeter ~ Other: Coupon newbies: Don't make the same mistake I did (Kroger)

I have Krogers here, but I usually shop at Harris Teeter. I buy meat frequently (lowcarb), which is better quality at HT, and the Krogers in my area are kind of depressing (dirty, badly lit, beat-up carts, etc). But I had a lot more coupons that matched up with Kroger this week (or so I thought), so I made a side trip for a few things. While I was there I grabbed some more stuff for which I had nice coupons which would double (or so I thought). You know where this is going, right?

HT doubles up to 99c. Kroger only doubles up to 50c. I had it in my head that they doubled the same way HT does.

I am new at this and at the best of times I am not one to stand in line at customer service, and it took me a while to figure out what was wrong with my receipt. I don't want to tell you how many 55c-85c coupons I just wasted. :(

aww- sorry. :( That's a bummer. HT is the only store I know of in my are that doubles up to 99c. (and I still never shop there)
