QUESTION Customer Service Mgr. did not read 20 Coupon Limit Policy

    Hi,

Has anyone experienced when shopping at HT that the Customer Service Manager/CSM (white shirt manager) not Customer Service Courtesy Clerk not knowing their 20 coupon limit policy?

Today when I shopped with coupons--within 20 coupon limits--Super Doubling correctly, I had a CSM tell me that I could not use my other face value coupons which would not Super Double since I had reached my limit of 20 coupons already.:shrug7: Of course, I had the current coupon policy and she read the copy that was posted at the service desk. I said, "No, Mam, your policy is that coupons can be used for face value and will be deducted (after 20 coupon limit is reached doubled/tripled) for face value." I told her I knew that the coupons would not Super Double; but that I can still use them for face value.

She tried to tell me no; but I showed her their copy and my copy of the HT newest coupon policy. I was able to use my face value coupons after all. Crazy--huh? She apologized for the misunderstanding. I told her fine. Anyone experience this lately at your store--my store was in N VA area.

Anyway I spent before coupons $100 or so; and with all the discounts/coupons my out-of-pocket total was $25 or so. I had rain checks and alot of coupons for cereals, cleaning products, detergent, coffee, etc.

    Have fun--

I'm in NoVA and they used to be so well informed and helpful with the coupons. They've gone rude and stupid in the last two events. I have a feeling they maybe got a new regional/district manager or something. It's driving me nuts and I'll be calling corporate because they are no longer the friendliest store for me, in fact, I have been avoiding shopping there weekly for the first time in 2 years.

Yes, I know. I accepted her apology and assumed she was "a little stressed". Oh well--:hectic1:

I never have any problems with CS at my store. In fact, a few weeks ago when they had all that deoderant on clearance for a buck and some change, my son wanted to get the tag deoderant sprat that we had been looking at CVS at for a while. It had never been on sale to use my coupons. I told my son if he wanted it, he would have to ask CS if they would take a coupon for it (have been told no at another store, never at this one, and was trying to show him how to maximize savings).
So he goes up there with his product and waits patiently for CS to ask while I was paying for my other purchases. When I got there he had just been told yes and was like "Mom, where's that coupon we've been trying to use for months now?" I searched and couldn't find it so I said it must be in the car, let's go get it and we'll be right back. The CS person said to my son, "you try this out for me and let me know what you think". He had marked on the can free of charge and initialed it. I love my HT.

I've been shopping HT for years and it was my understanding that it was 20 coupons, period, per visit or day.
And I heard that a site member got banned for saying their store did this or that, when the store policy is only 3 like coupons during triples, etc. I assume you used no more than 3 like coupons. That is the written rule at HT. Or am I mis-understanding you? You wanted to have 20 coupons super double and then some more just ring up at face value on the same transaction? I always thought it was 20 per visit or day. A rule I can live with if I have 140 coupons, I'll go once a day, no biggie.
Well, maybe they have changed the rules lately. The HT mod can probably shed light on the 20 coupon thing........

From what I understand, it is 20 coupons that will doubled per day. You can use more than that for face value only.

I did this the other day. I used 20 coupons that doubled, then a .35 Tide coupon which I didn't care if it doubled because .35 is not much compared to $1.50. I also used my Purina $3.50 IPs for the BOGO Purina Cat Chow.

I have used 21-25 coupons on different days. I make sure to hand them to the cashier so all the high value ones are in the first 20 so they definitely double. The one today (#21) for 55 cents scanned face value-it was a peelie on the bread and I needed bread. The other day I had several $2 and a $3.50 and they scanned after my 20 that super doubled. Hope this helps.

I believe it has always been an everyday thing with or without super doubles/triples. It's 20 coupons per day, per card/household/phone number/whatever.... That's something I have learned recently. I wish they allow more coupons since I can't really make trips to HT everyday, my DH thinks I am insane LOL...

    Cheers.

At my HT it is 20 qs per day that will be doubled/tripled and anything over that is face value only. I had 20 the other day for super doubles and had 2 for free bread and a couple that said do not double and so was able to use them all.

Here is the coupon policy regarding doubles, up to date - copy and paste from their website:
(Highlighting and bold print are mine)

    Doubling
    • We accept 20 double coupons per day per customer/household with VIC card; all others redeemed at face value. No orders may be separated that would allow the 20 coupon limit to be exceeded.
    • We double manufacturer’s coupons up to face value of $0.99; with total amount not to exceed $1.98 or entire retail of item; whichever is less.
    • We double up to three identical items with manufacturer coupon; additional coupons for like item will be honored at face value.
    • No competitor coupons will be doubled or tripled.
    • In the event of triple coupons, up to 20 coupons will be tripled per day per customer/household with VIC card; all others redeemed at face value. No orders may be separated that would allow the 20 coupon limit to be exceeded.

So it would not be violating their policy to get 6 items with 6 identical coupons, as long as the items are not identical. For example, 6 Ragu, but 3 each of 2 different flavors.
    HTH!!
