I have run into more cashiers and CS that don't know their policy and when you try to explain it to them thay think your an idiot. Know your store policys because if you abide by what they make up due to lack of training you'll never save anything.
Yes, I did read it right. She was incorrect.

Thank you PP for posting the actual policy - it is 20 doubled/tripled coupons per day, and all others redeemed at face value. That means you'd better use the 20 that you want to double/triple first, b/c after the register counts to #20 the rest are coming off at face value only.
If you think about the policy, it makes sense. They limit the multiplying coupons b/c they take a loss on those - doubling and tripling are store promotions that the manufacturer's do not reimburse the store for. When you super-doube a $1.00 coupon to $2.00 value, HT only get the face value of $1.00 back for the coupon and has to take the $1.00 loss on the doubling. So of course they want to limit the number of coupons we can double or triple, b/c it's costing them money. However, there is no stated limit on the number of coupons we can redeem at face value - b/c HT is getting the face value back when they turn in the coupons for reimbursement. Limiting the number of face-value non-multiplying coupons that we can use would be like saying "Sorry, you can only spend $50 per day here, come back tomorrow if you want to buy more stuff." Coupons that we redeem at face-value only are as good as cash, and therefore not limited.

this exact thing happened to me a few weeks ago. i made her read the policy to me and she did and she claimed that "all others redeemed at face value" meant a limit of 20 coupons a day total even though the wording clearly says something else. i made her call corporate with me there and then she claimed that she was agreeing with me when she just argued with me that i was trying to do something wrong and unethical. i was livid. called corporate myself after i left and never heard back anything. hopefully she will be educated about their own policy as it drives me nuts when we know it better than they do. i've got to say that this specific store has gone down hill IMHO after the previous manager moved to another store. they used to be wonderful. now they are all unhappy and not polite and just not a nice place to shop as much anymore.
