Harris Teeter ~ Vent: HT on Rea Rd (Charlotte)- Watchout!

I went into HT on Rea Rd today to pick up a few items. I bought 7 items and had 8 coupons (catalina $3 OYNO + one for each item.) Only 5 were scanned and I noticed it at check out and asked the cashier about my other 3 coupons. She told me I only gave her 5! I had just counted/ double checked them while waiting for the person in front of me to get checked out. She "found" the other 2 but the $3 was still "missing". She treated me like I was trying to steal something . I asked for her to get a Manager and she told me there was no one avaliable. There was a long line and I was in a rush so I just left, but I did put in a call to the store manager this afternoon. Watchout, I have a feeling the cashier is taking peoples catalina coupons.

If you don't hear from the manager, call the corporate office. They have cameras everywhere in each store, so they can pull up the whole thing and watch it. Just be sure to keep your receipt, they will need that info.

I'm sorry that happened. While I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, if you do feel strongely she was trying to hide the catalina coupon from you on purpose please let the stoer manager know. They do have cameras all over the store and check out area.

Their cameras take decent quality video as well - not like cheapo convenience store cameras footage you see on shows like "The First 48".

I know this is getting off topic - just thought it was really quite interesting. I had no idea that the video quality was as good as it was.

If HT would start showing the folks who are trying to do more than 20 coupons a day the surveillance video of themselves doing previous purchases with coupons that doubled I bet those folks would stop their nonsense. It shouldn't be too hard for their system to link the timestamp on the video to the timestamp of the VIC card purchase with the correct checkout lane and customer image.
