Harris Teeter ~ Question Harris Teeter Opening Tuesday

We have a new Harris Teeter opening Tuesday at 5pm. Anyone have any comments on the grand opening of their Harris Teeter? Will it be worth going on opening day-coupons or giveaways? Or should I just stay home and check it out later in the week?

We had one open here last week. I was underimpressed.

Usually the grand openings are not exciting - they have free samples, a spin the wheel and win prize type game and Harry the happy dragon (or whatever he is called for the kids). The best part of HT's opening IMO is they usually send out sets of $10/$40 (usually 4, each one lasting one week) to area households. If you know a new store sent them out but you did not recieve them - stop by the customer service desk and ask. They always have extras there.

I went out to the new store in town yesterday and the only thing I got were some free potato rolls. Mind you, I am not complaining as we love those things and the guy giving them out was very generous with them, but I was hoping for at least a few coupons or something - LOL

Thanks Jen, I'll ask about the 10/40. Nothing in my mail yet. Todays Washington Post plastic wrapper had an announcement printed on it about the grand opening. Big deal! Repped you!

They sent us $20 off $40 purchase coupons for almost a year after opening! Towards the end however, they lowered the value to $10/$35.....still not too bad! Ah, the good ol' days!
