My guess is that was due to the fact they were BOGO and the coupons were rolling as opposed to a change in the registers.

Wow, I only shopped two days last week because I had to go out of town. I had no idea any of this was going on. I did have trouble with two coupons beeping on my second day. One was $1.50 off Hot Shot bug spray and the other was $1 off Taco Bell meal kits. I had exactly 20 coupons to triple plus the $1 and $1.50. The Bug Spray was BOGO (I only bought 1) and the Meal kit was closeout 1.84. I wonder if they are changing it so you can only use 20 coupon total even if they are not double or triple coupons. I did notice that when the manager came over to push the coupons through they checked to make sure that they did not cause the items to be free or give overage (neither did).

So am I understanding you correctly? In one order you bought 16 yakisoba but used 10 coupons? I know that it's a ymmv thing because I'm sure you got different flavors and that you could argue it's not the same item but I don't know. Seems to me that pushing the limits and milking the "policy" for all its worth will eventually come back to bite us in the butt. Not saying you did anything wrong just wondering if eventually stuff like this (and you by no means are the only one) is going to hurt all of us in the end even though right now it's fun.

I bought some Yakisoba noodles and used 2 coupons. My first coupon went okay but the second coupon beeped. Since it is a BOGO, the manager had to do the calculation to make sure that I am not getting overage for the noodles. I was totally okay with that as long I get them FREE or close to FREE :) I had the same problem with Dannon which tripled $0.90 instead of $1.20. The manager came over the second time to fix the problem after I explained to him the problem. On both occasion, he was very nice.

As for refund, during April triple, I went back to HT one week later after my triple coupon purchase to ask about the Dannon coupons not tripling correctly. The CS was extremely nice and gave me back my $2. It's amazing she refunded me the money even after one week!!! I didn't feel guilty, instead I felt so relieved for getting my money (my husband's actually) back! Depending on my mood, sometimes I just don't care if the cashier missed one coupon.

I usually go to HT pretty late at night (midnight to 2AM) and the only cashier working there (Lori) is such a sweetheart and she always makes sure that my coupons double/triple correctly and always alerts me whenever I get something free from the coupons! She did mention that she doesn't really like triple coupons event because some customers are really nasty and not as nice as my husband and I (hehehehe) It is a lot easier to shop after midnight when no one is at the store, and the manager working there is always efficient! :)

Cheers..... still love HT!!!!

Used coupons as they are intended. Coupon for 35 cents off one package. Yakisoba BOGO at 1.29 that week (64 cents each). Computer totaled the amount charged on product and tripled each coupon to 1.05 off until it reached the amount billed for Yakisoba rather than only take 64 cents off per coupon, so the amount credited was reached in 10 coupons.

I bought 16 packages-they were 2/1.29-total 10.32. Each 35 cent coupon (10) tripled to 1.05 (last one for only .52) to give me a credit of 10.32=FREE. The reason I gave them 16 coupons for 16 packages was I expected each coupon to apply to each item purchased-didn't know whether it would pay overage or not.

I try to be extremely careful when I get to the line. I even make sure if my Free coupon says up to 85 cents and the item rings up at 88 cents that the cashier only gives me credit for 85 cents. I don't want anyone to see me coming and think "Oh, she's the one that I got burned for taking her coupons".

Sorry for the late response-I didn't realize anyone had responded to my post. Says I am subscribed but it didn't come to my Yahoo account.

Ok guys just a friendly reminder that Yakisoba was BOGO during triples so that means 1 coupon per BOGO - since that is HT's rules. So in this case you should have used 8 coupons, not 10 when buying 16 packages.

Since HT's policy is to double/triple "3 identical items with manfacturer coupons" then yes if your store allows you to buy different flavors and use coupons then go for it. This is very YMMV though - not all stores interept the policy this way so please be aware.

Thanks Jen-I didn't realiize that but I'll be careful in the future. So many different rules, I should have read their policy. Now I understand the confusion with my senario.
