Thanks for the heads-up...I'll wait until next triples and hopefully they will work the kinks out!

My last trip was Sunday - I bought 3 items and had 3 coupons, and it was the only trip of the day (stock was pitiful). I made the mistake of losing my VIC card in my purse and therefore handing the cashier my coupons before I found my VIC card. So, that meant that none of my coupons doubled or tripled.

The cashier calls the manager, explains it to him, and he comes back with a new VIC card for me, thinking that I needed a VIC card. Smart.

He then proceeds to figure out how to make them triple for me, like he is doing me a favor.

So, maybe this is the same issue? Regardless, I think I just learned to hand over the VIC card and THEN the coupons.

HOT Re: Card cutting off

ERG! Monday I went to the HT in Cary. I used 15 coupons, only 9 tripled - but I didn't notice this until about an hour later after I was home. I called the store, the lady told me I could take my receipt back to any store and they could look it up and fix the problem. So I run out tonight to get a few more items AND talk to the mgr. at the location closest to us, and he tells me there is nothing he can do unless I noticed the problem right then and there when the problem happened. He said the stores have big bag of coupons all lumped together and there would be no way of knowing what should be what. WHAT?!?!? I'm so ticked right now! It only amounted to about about $4.00 that I should have received back - but it's still $4.00!!!

I had the same thing happen to me at the HT off Stratford in Winston-Salem. I used 20 qs, my first and only trip that day. 13 of them tripled and 7 did not. I promply took my receipt to customer service and after a lot of huffing and puffing(them, not me:)), I was refunded $12.25. The next day, I had three of my Qs not triple at the one off of Robinhood, but it wasn't worth my time to get a refund. So frustrating!! I always feel so guilty about asking for the money back that is rightly mine!! Like I'm some kind of criminal!! I wish all of these stores would get their act together!! I won't even start on my trip to Walgreens today....

I had this happen to me at the store off Yadkinville Rd, Robinhood Rd, and Country Club road (no, not all in the same day, or over a 20 coupon limit) but the managers at each one made them triple for me since I had not been used/reached my limit of 20.

I hope they get this fixed before next triples, it hurt mine and their brains figuring out the math to make sure I wouldn't get overage on some items.

I went tonight with about six coupons and all worked the way they should have only tripling up until the item was free, no overage. I did go back and check my other receipts from the week to discover that sometimes they tripled giving overage and the Koolaid IP didn't triple or even double and the yogurt coupon gave .60, then .90 but I had a get one free that she rang in the normal price, not the sale price, so not complaining. Overall I had a good time this week with most of my coupons working and most of the stock being there at some point. I got the last bottle of Glass Plus tonight to use with my last coupon so I was happy about that. I forgot to take the famous amos coupon and was disappointed when I realized that.Oh well. I am glad my store is coupon friendly and I have never had any problems at all with CS.

The reason for some encountering problems and others not is that this has been a test run in certain stores/markets for the new computer program that will block more than 20 Q's per day. Apparently it started in a few stores last week and they have been adding in stores every day.

From another board:

Confirmed today by a corporate employee at HT that ALL stores will be set up as of this coming weekend to limit the doubling/tripling to 20 per day per VIC card.

ALSO, they will be watching for husband/wife, mother/daughter teams and will prevent them from doing two shops.

ALSO, they hope to have the VIC system set up by the end of the year to so that the card will only work if it has a complete mailing address attached to it so that 2 people in the same household cannot have seperate cards as the policy is per customer/household.

Basically things are changing at HT as they are going to be enforcing the policy by the computer system now. I just hope they get the kinks worked out soon on valid coupons not doubling. What a pain in the tushy for everyone involved.

OOOO I just thought of something else, were the coupons that didn't double/triple on items that were BOGO free or B2G3 free???? Maybe the systems is going to automatically block that now as well???

I had the same issue with the yogurt not tripling. It was Dannon bogo. However, I bought some Teatly tea that was bogo and used a coupon that tripled. I think it may have just been dairy-yogurt specifically.

The first day of triples I went, and they wouldn't triple a few coupons that said do not double. I just took those items off my order. I later went to my local Kroger which was tripling in competition, and had no problem with tripling the same coupon.

Harris Teeter was really a mess this time. They had to adjust some coupons, and were out of stock on a number of items. Kroger really knocked into their business this time. Kroger prices are cheaper, and they had a good sale on top of triples. They also had well stocked shelves. The great thing was that they gave overage at Kroger, and change back if you didn't buy enough products to cover the overage--no hassles and no questions asked.

I bought 16 Yakisoba-beeped after 10 coupons-two days in a row. The computer tripled each coupon until the coupon total equaled the amount charged for all of them (rather than only triple each coupon up to the cost for each one)-which made them all free but no overage. So I just saved the coupons for another trip. Still got them free!
