Default Re: Card cutting off

My husband did 3 transactions of ONE coupon each...none of them would double or triple. Three coupons total....no other coupons. I did no transactions myself, because I was too angry at that point. It was a fight to get them to even refund the difference....a tiny amount, but the principle angers me. I've tried following their rules...the dumb ones and the ones that make sense....and now it's not working. I took my set to Lowes and used them with no problems at all.

Then she called the manager over and he added the difference up and manually entered the amount. When I got home and looked over the receipt I realized the ones that didn't work were for the items that would have been free, one penny over in one case and with the Mentos gum $0.66 overage. The managers didn't know what was causing the problem, but had been experiencing it all day. I called her back and told her what I thought was the problem. So they might get it corrected, but don't hold your breath for it to happen too soon. Keep watching the screen and make sure they double next week. I like to keep on the good side of the managers!

I then explained to her that has nothing to do with the milk Q. So then she starts to count and says I have 21 Qs. I then explained her policy said No more then 20 double/tripple Q's and that 2 of my Q's are for $1.00 or more. She then stormed off grabed the policy off the CS counter (papers flying) and pointed out the part that says HT will only double/triple 20 Q's. I explained that I just told her that. And that they did not double /triple $1.00 Q's.Eyes rollen she then argued all Q's doubled. I told her I would be happy to take my Q's and go to the other HT. She then told me she would go ahead and give me the .50 since I was making a big deal out of it. My son who is 2 1/2 is now crying and the cashier has the nerve to ask me "Does he always act like that? I replied I guess he's tired of standing here also, and she says I'm sorry your having a bad day. Let me just say I shop HT because of the normal customer service and the triples, not the prices. It was not the .50 I was making a big deal about. It was the fact that they are inconsistant with their policy. I dread hearing a beep because I feel like depending on the cashier They are going to make up a new rule or reason that the coupon didn't work. This was my one and only trip today So my card had no reason to cut off and it tripled the Q's after that one:shrug7:

Was the Q for $0.50 and the milk priced at $1.25? It should have been free, but I think they've changed the registers to not double/triple the Q's that would be over the price. I wish the HT management could figure out how to tell their store managers what effect the computer changes will have and they could then educate the cashiers so they aren't just making up excuses as to why things don't work. It would save everyone lots of frustration and keep good customer service!

I think you're onto something there....that would make sense with my coupons. Ugh. I have emailed them in the past to tell them how I always grumbled about other stores' customer service, saying Harris Teeter would do better....I'm about ready to email them to let them know they fell from their pedestal.:sad:

I cashed out an only 6 tripled. I was told after 10 minutes of waiting that someone went through another reg w/same card. My hubby did shop today but w/his own card. I was so confused/upset I left the whole order. Very upsetting after driving an hour an then shopping to leave w/NADA!!!

That's strange that all this is happening.

The only problem I encountered at Harris Teeter with triple event is the Dannon yogurt and the Maruchan Yakisoba coupons. Other than that, everything doubled/tripled the way they should have been.

I will have to check out my HT later this evening or tomorrow....

Cheers...

Default Re: Card cutting off

I went today,(Uscan) this is only my third time this triples, and first time today.
All of my Q tripled except for the Propel Tearpad $.50Q, not one of them doubled or tripled, but my Glass Plus did (which was free after Q would have been overage if they did that). Today I used all 20 and only the Propel didn't (I checked they do begin with a 5 and do NOT say DND). I guess I am fortunate enough that I have a cashier watching out for me and she actually caught the fact those Q didn't triple and she called CS and Flo was more than happy to come and fix the problem for my 4Q that equaled $4.... Also I used 2 Q ($1+$2 Q) over the 20 and number 21 in sequence was $.50 glass plus and it still tripled, number 22 was the $2 peelie for the meat that beeps no matter how you scan it. So I guess the problem you guys are describing didn't happen to me.

When I went on Saturday I used the mentos and those tripled, actually all of my Q tripled (though I only did 12). I did that one at a regular cashier.

I have noticed that my receipts are different looking between the Uscan and regular cashier...The uscan will scan the coupon and show the coupon doubling/tripling in the next line. The regular cashiers don't douible/triple until all coupons are scanned. That makes it much more difficult to keep track of since they are after all coupons are scanned.

Also I have cards that are different numbers but show under the same address, but those 2 different sets of numbers keep a total of savings year to date as if they were one card... if that makes sense....

What an awful experience. I am so sorry. Tomorrow I would call and ask to speak to the store manager about this situation. Most likely the CS person was frustrated dealing with coupon tripling problems all day but guess what it is her job and she needs to deal with it or find another job. There is no reason to take it out on a customer.
