Harris Teeter ~ Other: My HT isn't doing triples :(

I'm so sad! I went shopping today to buy stuff I'd only buy when they do triples. None of my coupons tripled and when I went to the CS desk to ask, she said they were called Thursday morning and told they were being excluded (they were tripling on Wednesday though). I live on the Outer Banks and tourist season started last week. I asked her if this was going to be the case all season and she said she wasn't sure but probably :sad:

Does this happen in other tourist hot spots or could there be another reason for not tripling?

My Harris Teeter has tons of competition in my area. Even the Kroger decided to triple just to compete with them this week. I'm sure competition plays a big role.

I am in a touristy area & we are tripling. (well, Wednesday & Thursday they were!) I am on Hilton Head Island.... I hope it is only this time for you! :(

I think its the location,everything cost more at the beach! I know when I look at the HT ad on line it has "prices not valid in the North Carolina outer banks" at the bottom of the first page. With the prices the tourist pay to stay and play on the OBX they don't even really pay much attention to grocery prices,just get what they need. It does make it hard on residents but thats the way it is. Sorry......

Yeah, I noticed that last week (or maybe it was 2 weeks ago) when I was looking at the flyer online. Even the Food Lion prices here are different from the ones just over on the mainland. It stinks. I loved the last 2 triples I got in on.

The HT deals (esp B2G3) don't seem to be as good now that the tourists are here, too.

Come to the HT in Greenville. With the newer road open, it only takes us 1.5 hours to get to Manteo. And with 2 stores in it might worth a trip with a cooler.
