QUESTION Harris teeter stopping triples?

So i am new to couponing and triple coupons at HT made me very excited, but im now afraid it wont last much longer.

Spoke to an employee tonight who said the current triple coupons will be their last, because too many people are taking advantage of it.

She told me they will continue to run doubles, but are unsure if they will bring triples back.

Anyone else heard anything???

That was probably an employee giving you their opinion and not a corporate decision. We hear rumors about that all the time, but with Bloom tripling monthly, I think HT will continue to match them. I wouldn't worry about it.

Sounds like some employee is just wishful thinking. My store is dead unless they are having triples. It bring in the customers.Wish I had a Bloom store near me.Just a single HT here.

Ask one of the stock persons at my store today about HT stopping triples .He said that ever who said HT was stopping triples was out of there head.He said they are doing more triples this year than all the years put together. He is also a couponer so I'm 100% sure he know what he is talking about.

Rumors like this pop up about stores ending promotions all the time. (there's also a 'current rumor' that they might start tripling every day LOL). If you happen to join the wonderful world of CVS-ing, you'll have to get used to it b/c the rumors come in cycles and are almost always proven to be false, or else just a misunderstanding of something different going on. Coming from a random employee (you didn't say if it was a cashier/manager/etc), I wouldn't worry about it just yet. Probably someone tired of being busy all the time and maybe a little jealous (or perhaps suspicious) of all the low OOP's they see. And maybe they're tired of the not-so-nice couponers that try to argue when they're not allowed to mis-use a coupon or break HT's rules. Maybe they just don't 'get' how HT could be making any money with all the stuff we (couponers) get for free, but obviously HT corporate knows what they're doing. It's also been said many times before that Triple Coupon events are one of HT's most profitable times (b/c most people don't 'super-shop' like we do, therefore ending up spending money at HT that they otherwise would have spent somewhere else), so I don't see an incentive for them to 'end it' anytime soon. It is possible that the monthly triples won't last forever and they could go back to their 4-times-a-year schedule, but I just don't see them ending it completely.

(also, some of us have friends that work in corporate and are confident that we might hear something from one of those friends before hearing something from a bottom-of-the-food-chain employee. :) )

I can just imagine, certain cashiers ringing up customers on triple days - with cartloads of groceries, walking out paying 5.00 or so...
That would be frightening for someone who doesn't understand coupon economics!

I don't think this is so. The assistant manager I talked to said HT loves couponers. The people who don't use any coupons more than make up for the difference she states. That same night I was behind a lady whose bill came to $169.00. She had tons of things she could have used Q's on. I just laughed when my bill came to $27.00 and the cashier said I saved $70.00.

JEP I was just thinking the same thing. The Wilson store is an enigma in the HT world - when the first opened they tripled DAILY for MONTHS with no break. Then they started tripling like every other week, which of course no other HT's do. The Wilson store is a special circumstance. LOL I'm sure the cashier has just been told that they are finally going to stop tripling SO OFTEN, and just get with the program that all the other HT's are on, which is currently monthly triples. (normally once per quarter, but it's been monthly for something like 5 or 6 months now I think?) I believe we can safely lower the TCTT (triple-coupon terror threat) level back down to green for now. :)
