Won't be going everyday this time. | How soon, before a weekly sale, do the people (who decide which items will be on sale a particular week) know the info?
They got to have some access to what coupons are outstanding and can create their sales ad to be disappointing.
LAST HT triples they took a blood bath on Pillsbury, Sobes, Kellogg cereals, free milk CATS, and other items. It was the best triples I ever had. Alot of it was HT error. THEY were GIVING the blinkies for the kellogg deal and free milk, and the Kellogg deal also gave overage. There were blinkies out on the Pillsbury. Someone at the store had put .40/1 stickers on all the Sobe water bottles, and it was day 4 before they caught it, lots of self made freebies compliments of HT. Somebody messed up that triples. They get their revenge this coming one, it seems.
IF they are going to triple once a month and late in the month, and you ar near a Bloom's also, you got it made, 2 triples a month and the sales and coupons will match great from time to time and stink the next. I've never really done that well at Bloom triples. The ads seem dull every week.

You are right about the last triples I really did great. This triples I will be using alot of home mailers that I have that are about to expire. Several of the sales that are going to run through triples match up with home mailers. I was disappointed with the ad at first but after researching the store sales I think I can make out pretty well. I don't have a Bloom near me (Hickory area). I mostly shop at HT (sometimes FL and LF). |

| Re: ****triple ad**** I think they took a hit that triples also! Since then, at my HT everyone all of a sudden knows the coupon policy and cashiers are enforcing it. This must of come as a result of that triples...the timing couldn't be a coincidence.
A couple of cashiers are going a little far though. One wouldn't let me use one coupon on one BOGO item. She said I had to buy 2 in order to use one coupon. I think this may be a YMMV thing at HT now that they are enforcing.

| Re: ****triple ad**** Lots of times, it isn't the store that puts the hang tags, or the blinkie machines that stuff is put out by vendors or people that are paid by marketing agencies to do it. The blinkie machines are put out by a different company, and the ones that are at HT aren't supposed to double/triple anyway (so that is not HTs loss). Hangtags on a lot of drinks are put out by vendors. Sobe is brought in by a vendor (atleast it was in Florida) and the vendor puts the tags on not HT employees, are you sure HT figured it out or someone didn't just take all the hangtags?
These things are done way in advance, the deals have to be made between corp and manufacturers, sale of space in store (endcaps)/marketing, the circulars have to be designed, then printed and then delivered to the stores. Right now it is right after Memorial Day and not close enough to Fathers Day or July 4th the next biggest holidays. Other than schools letting out and people starting to go on vacaction the next few weeks there really aren't too many reasons to really "celebrate" anything at the grocery store.
I think I read somewhere that coupons are done 6+ months in advance.
Also when I told my dairy guy that triples were this week coming he wasn't very happy. He said that all the loss from the coupons for his department somehow show as a loss for his department. He is the manager of the Dairy deptartment at my store. Maybe I misunderstood him, but I even tried to clarify it to make sure I understood what he was saying-but I will admit, I still could have misunderstood.
I know not everyone shops the way I do, but I am kinda glad this is not a great triples, I have way too much from the past several weeks from another store. My freezer is full of meat, ice cream (from 2 weeks ago) and bread. I have hardly any space left and have just been hoping for a break from the great deals. I had some great coupons that I was using at another store-that was an error but my store was too lazy to pull the peelies (not HT).

| That's strange especially considering they get reimbursed for their coupons. That's not a process that happens overnight either. Weird! :shrug7:

| Re: ****triple ad**** I meant Triple coupons, they only get reimbursed for face value.
Also I have noticed suddenly my store is enforcing rules they were "unaware" of before...Three weeks ago I had my favorite cashier say "I didn't know we (HT) weren't supposed to be accepting interent BOGO coupons." Two weeks ago it was "I didn't know we were only supposed to accept 2 coupons for the buy 2 get 3 sales." I haven't been in a few days to see what she learned this week.
