For normal coupons ( not IP ), it is 3 like ITEMS. For example, on the TicTac Chill, you can get 3 cherry and 3 mint, give them 6 coupons and all 6 will double (or triple ). I have done this with the TicTac, the Yakisoba, and the GUM toothbrushes. I've only had 1 person try to tell me it was 3 like coupons. The policy read ITEMS and is the way the computer is coded.

Last week, I was getting GUM toothbrushes that I had a raincheck for & it made them free ( at least, I thought it would make 3 free and the rest .25). I didn't realize that I had enough different varieties, but ALL 10 ended up being free. That was nice since we're sending them to our troops in Afghanistan.

On another note, BILO is 10 like COUPONS and if you get 5 of one variety and 6 of antoher, only 10 will double no matter what.

I have a question about competitor coupons. The policy at HT says,

We gladly accept local competitors’ circular or direct-mail coupons for MONEY OFF THE TOTAL ORDER; we do not take competitor’s coupons for money off specific items.

So, this means that they only accept coupons that say (for example) "$5 off purchase of $25 or more" and NOT manufacturer coupons for a certain amount off a specific item - correct?

I ask because I have had success using a manufacturer coupon (x amount off specific product) from Rite Aid's circular... the coupon had a bar code and said, "Good at Rite Aid stores." I thought that HT accepted all competitor coupons so I just handed it over and it beeped - but the manager overrode it and it worked.

So... ? Do they accept competitor manufacturer coupons or not? There are a few Safeway coupons for specific items in their circular and I do not really want to make two separate trips to the store...

    Just ask your store managers--YMMV.

Yup, I used mine the other day and vice versa, I just used my HT one at Bilo...I think LF will take it too...they are all manufactures coupons, they do not state "ONLY GOOD AT" they say "Redeem at" TO ME that is not exclusive. But I used cats like that all the time. I used a Free item cat from BiLo at LF yesterday, no beeps no nuttin.

So I have a question about IPs and rain checks. I got a boat-load of rain checks for diapers this past week, knowing that I can get a sweet deal next super doubles. So most of them were written for 3. I also have a handful of $3 off IPs to use now, and am wondering what they will do with the "only 2 IPs per day" policy, when I have a rain check for 3. Will I just be out of luck for the 3rd item? Or I guess I can at least use a regular coupon for the 3rd, but I don't have any of those for $3 off.

Make sense? Thanks in advance for your insights.

Strictly speaking, you would be limited to using only 2 IPs per rc.
But talk to the manager before you shop, and who knows, they may let you split the rc, or use a third IP "just this once".
I'm sure it would depend on the store, but my experience is that the managers are eager to please and would want to make you happy.

I was in the Pennsylvania Avenue HT in DC. I was at self scanner and split my order. Was only going to use 20 coupons TOTAL. After completing first order and starting to do 2nd order - guy who worked there came up to me and told me you are only allowed one transaction per day.. I told him the policy is 20 coupons total - that it didnt matter how many transactions you do. He asked if i wanted him to call the manager. I tried explaining to her that i was dividing order because I shop for 88 year old friend of mine. She began telling me if you use more than 20 coupons you are committed coupon fraud. She was not understanding what I was telling her. I was so frustrated, I said well I'll call my friend over here, who was at a regular register not using any coupons... I told her she will do the order then. The manager proceeded to tell me , "Well I know you picked out the items so I cannot let you do that!" I was so frustrated. Usually I am low key and dont like to cause a scene - I was furious at this point... I walked up to the manager who was talking to several men (prob. high up in HT) and said excuse me, but isnt the policy 20 coupons per day per person and I've never heard you cant split an order.. I looked at her name tag and said, "What is your name - I'm calling corporate... this is redicious." when she finally understood what I was telling her again - that I was only using total of 20 coupons -- she said, "Oh, I didnt know you were using 20 coupons, go ahead and do your order." I left the stuff at the scanner and told the guy at the scanner, you can do 20 coupons per day that it doesnt matter how many orders you do. He said, you cant split transactions--- I said "go talk to your manager, she'll tell you. I'm calling corporate" and walked out.
I sure made a scene, but felt better standing my ground. Thanks for letting me vent. Dont like being accused of trying to commit "coupon fraud". What is coupon fraud anyways -- using more than 20 coupons? Thanks for letting me vent.
