We have one box of candy canes that gets reused over and over for the tree. I do buy 1 new box every year as DS likes them. They go in a big mug/vase thing on the mantle to eat.

We have Christmas tree (fake) that we've had for years. It seems to be in a different spot every year though. Last year we had it in the playroom but this year our twins are big enough to get into it so it's in the living room.

I know this isn't really a "how you decorate" thread but I just wanted to say: An easy way I found to make my house look festive is to fill a large vase or bowl with colored Christmas balls (ya know the ornaments) and use it as a centerpiece on the table or ??? Quick and easy peasy.

I guess my kids are use to them being on there every year. One of my teens seem to be eating one every night but the other 3 dont eat them that often(so far).

I dont think sugar gets to any of my kids much(bouncing off the walls that is) my twins which are 5 are on the go all the time anyway. It dont seem like sugar makes any differance in that.

My twin also put the stuff all low and pretty much on the same side of the tree to and yes that is where they stay...I would not feel right moving them at all...my tiwns like to as when they do things to "to help" like that are you proud of me. There is not way I can say yes I am proud of you then redo it for they would think that I was not reall proud of them or happy with what they did...so they stay where ever they put them, daddy did help them by putting some all over the tree also.

I cant see paying $$ for a real tree either to only use it one time..I also have breathing problems so I cant take that smell either. Its fake for me

No candy canes. Just never been interested in them. My kids don't do hard candy at all.

This year is the first we have 2 trees! We have our regular size fake one, and the girls decided they wanted a small tree of their own. So the big tree has all the fancy ornaments, and the girls' has bright colors and random ones that they've made.

I tape a candy cane to a bamboo skewer to make it like a floral pick. Then I poke three of them into silk houseplant and it makes it look "Christmasy". I also like to put pine branches, holly, boxwood etc. - in wet floral foam in a container like a bowl or vase and these candy cane "picks" & a simple bow. Real easy clean up after Christmas too - just throw it away

Candy Canes on the tree yes indeed and yes the kids are free to eat them as they like.
    We do all flavors :)

One tree for the past couple of years. We've done the little trees in the bedroom thing in the past but I think I'm over it. I actually have a pink Barbie fiberoptic one for my DD but she might be too big for it now (DD16) nah...LOL She'd still love it.

i buy candy canes every year, and i used to have 2 trees, one that i would decorate with "fancy matching ornaments, and the other tree had all the handmade ornaments from the kids and my mother in law". a couple of years ago i gave one of them away, so now i am back down to one tree. ( i am too cheap to buy another lol)

My dad used to resuse his candy canes year after year until we moved back here and my daughter tried to eat one! Eek! Someone bought me glass ones years ago as a gift.

well I got the other tree out..its the very same kind that I bought thinking that i did not have one. Now this one is at least 5 years old but guess what the price on the box is the very same price. I guess tree prices dont go up much or the one I bought this year has been left over alot!

I found some watermelon candy canes today so I have to buy a box, no one has got any off the tree this afternoon so they have not noticed them yet.
