My response was more generalized rather than a direct response to you, and it directly referenced holiday greetings, very much on topic and in proper context. Still, I stand by it, choosing my words very deliberately to also illustrate the (not meggers specific) inconsistency in complaining about how other people are just too easily offended, and then there's all the complaining about being too PC. I'm just saying you can't have it both ways. I'm ok with stores deciding how they want to be represented whether that's with "Happy Holidaze," "Merry Christmas," "Happy Non Religion Specific Winter Holiday," or, "God Be With You." I'm also ok with people voting with their wallets. I just call horse pucky on the claims of supporting "whatever they want to say" (in reference to holiday greetings) when it's clear that you (general you) don't really mean that.

As far as holding jobs hostage, do you feel the same about other policies put into place to maintain company images? Dress codes? Phone etiquette? I still think it's a dishonest argument to say that people should be allowed to greet someone however they want when you (general you) don't really mean that.

Me, too. I don't care if someone says Merry Christmas or Happy Whatever You Celebrate. I wonder if night shift workers get mad when people wish them a nice day. Anyway, I don't get the claims of de-Christifying Christmas with Happy Holidays. It leaves room for Christ as well as including other holidays. Unless people are saying, "Happy Holidays except you Christians." It's an inclusive greeting.
We do put up a tree. Do I think there are any religious aspects to it? No.

I'm riled up with the posts about taking the Christ out of Christmas! That offends me!

See, if you're offended by that, you're just being too sensitive and PC. Clearly, you need a thicker skin.

When a certain vocal majority is offended, it's valid, and the offenders are just deliberate meanypants doodyheads.

That does not work for me.

I wonder why the people worried about taking the Christ out of Christmas can't see the Holy in Holiday? Oh, and another thing, life is not all about you and your savior.

This year I'm going to wish everyone a "Happy Flying Spaghetti Monster All-You-Can-Eat Buffet Day".

No. Not PC at all. I just don't understand how the Christians decided to celebrate Christ's birth on this, what was a pagan holiday. So to me for them to be offended is...well..laughable.

When my ds was about 4yo, he started saying "Happy Christmas." You wouldn't believe all the adults who made fun on him, retorting "Merry New Year." They stopped feeling so superior when I pointed out that The Night Before Christmas poem ends with Santa saying "Happy Christmas to all."

The people I am talking about are those who post every religious thing that comes down the pike and then challenges everyone to repost it as if you are not Christian if you don't.

"We'll see who the Christians are on Facebook. . ." or "How many people have the courage to re-post this. . .".

With all due respect, I don't go on Facebook for a Bible lesson; I don't cuss on there or cause trouble either.

I love to say Merry Christmas and don't like Happy Holidays that much. HH just sounds so boring to me, lol I am not really offended by it that much but I like to keep Christ in Christmas and to me Happy Holidays is taking it out. I will not get in a frenzy over it though but Merry Christmas is just more special to me. Christ did so much for me the least I can do is honor him.
