well, maybe if you get nephew 'b' one of those chewable books for toddlers, he'd leave alone the book you may get for nephew 'a'
My fiancé and I have pretty much done all of our Christmas shopping. We just need to buy a few more gifts. One of the gifts still left to buy is for my fiancé's nephew.
The nephew is 6 years old. I'll call nephew, A. A is artistic, likes for you to read books to him, loves Beyblades, Nerf, etc.
The only problem is, A has a 1 1/2 year old brother, who eats everything, and I mean everything. I was thinking about buying A, a Shel Silverstein book or maybe a savings bond.
Good ideas? What do you suggest?
Always ISO:
Stayfree, Playtex Gentle Glide, Cottonelle, 9Lives, Friskies, Arm & Hammer Kitty Litter, Frozen Food (Healthy Choice, Marie Callender, Stouffer's, etc.) - any value.

Legos are always good and so are books. Does he have a Leapster? Games for those are good - they teach and are fun. I like the savings bond idea but a 6 year old would probably rather have something to open or do. Movie tickets or local children's museum pass would also be fun.
My suggestion is legos also. One of the sets that can be built. Nerf guns are always popular too (what we are doing this year) if he already likes them that is a way to go.
I think he is too young to appreciate the savings bond unless you buy that as the main gift and then get an inexpensive toy to open too.

I think legos are a little small to be around the 1.5 YO eater... I love the savings bond idea - and you could probably pick up a small toy for him to open. How does the mom feel about sugar? My sister found Christmas cereal and it has been a huge hit with my LO. It's a big box makes a fun noise when you shake it and if little brother gets into it - it's ok. It's a version of captain crunch so it's not horrible on the sugar level.

Is 6 too young to start reading Harry Potter?
Of course he will want to open something
and be able to do something with it.
I would suggest the Crayola line of drawing tools (Crayola Color Wonders).
They have glow in the dark papers/markers
magical pens
and more!
Legos are a definite no. I don't want his brother to choke or swallow them.
He does have a Leapster and his mom bought some games for it on Black Friday. We're trying to stay on a $20 or less budget for each person and I think the games are more than that.
I was thinking about getting him a savings bond, because his mom, my fiance's sister is always complaining about not having enough money, so I was thinking maybe this would be a way to help them have some money for his future.
I might nix the savings bond idea though, because then I would feel obligated to buy his brother one, and we already bought nephew B, a present.
Thanks for the suggestions.![]()
