It's a version of captain crunch so it's not horrible on the sugar level.
I think his mom is okay with him having sugar as long as he doesn't eat a whole lot of it. I think my nephew has ADHD, but I'm not sure.

What's the name of the cereal?

I don't know. I didn't read any of the books.

I'm not sure if he's reading chapter books just yet.

I would suggest the Crayola line of drawing tools (Crayola Color Wonders).
They have glow in the dark papers/markers
    magical pens
    and more!
I was thinking about those two items I mentioned in my original post, because I went shopping with his mom on Black Friday, and that child will not lack for things to open or do. Lol!

I was trying to think of something to buy him that wasn't too expensive and educational.

Art supplies! One year I gave all my nieces and nephews little art supply kits that I put together (of course I shopped Back-to-school sales and clearance for most of it so my cost was way cheap.

I got a little Rubbermaid type tote that closed with a carrying handle, I tossed in crayons, washable markers, watercolors, some homemade play dough, paint brushes, finger paints, pipe cleaners, pom pom balls, glue sticks, Popsicle sticks and some construction paper and kid scissors. I decorated the totes with the kids names and stickers and they were a big hit! I would just make sure all the craft supplies are non-toxic and washable. And I would maybe pick up some of those Crayola Tadoodles or just some fat crayons for the baby and the baby can sit in the highchair and color too.

I also made these art kits for my own kids and they love them, we can pack the whole kit for car trips or visits to grandparents, they can shut the lid on them and with art supplies if the older one sits at the kitchen table then maybe just maybe the baby cannot get and chew them up! LOL

Great idea! I saw this woman buying some of what you described at Toys R Us on Black Friday and I wished I had grabbed some, but I agree, making your own is better and cheaper!

Also, I saw some diy projects on another site like make your own galaxy play dough so I may end up making a diy present.

Proud mom to an adorable two year old little boy!

Please excuse my spelling-my LO is on the loose and just learned how to climb-so I am typing as fast as I can!
