Kohl's sale was stupid this year. Everything was 'after MIR'. I normally love Kohl's BF sale... Not this year.

I am not a Black Friday fan and wouldn't dream of going out in the middle of the night to stand on line for pretty much anything I could think of lol. But DD is young and impressionable and wanted to go out just to say that she did. Anyway, she's been wanting an XBox for Christmas, which we couldn't afford right now (hubby's summer business is done and he just started a holiday job so no checks yet.) But we realized we could probably trade in her Wii that she feels she's kind of outgrown and her games and get some credit at Game Stop. There is one nearby that isn't part of a mall or anything so we went around 10 or 11 am. They just happened to have the XBox on sale for $150, and with the credit she got on her old system and games, I only had to come up with $32. So even though that pretty much cleaned out my checking account until the end of the week, it was one of those now or never things, so I went for it.

Then yesterday we went to look for some cheap holiday decorations. We didn't find much in our price range lol. But at Big Lots and I got a cute scarf for me for $2 and some window clings for her also for $2. Then we went to Christmas Tree Shops and bought a battery operated lighted snowman ornament for a dollar, more holiday window clings for 1.69, and one of those giant cupcake baking pans for her to give as a gift to my son's gf for $3.99.

So other than almost getting into a fender bender at the Christmas Tree Shops, all in all it wasn't too painful an experience.

We didn't go out at midnight, but were in Orlando on a family vacation and had overdosed on theme parks, so went to the outlet mall at around 10:00AM. DD2 has wanted a Vera Bradley duffle bag forever, but $92 is too rich for my blood. We hit a sale at the store - $59.00, then there was 25% off that and another 20% off, so with tax we got her one for $34!

DD1 loves Lululemon, but again, very pricey. The store had running shorts - normally $52 or more each, on sale for $9.00!!! She got several pair, some for roommate gifts, plus two pair of yoga workout pants for $32 each (normally $92).

They both got a pair of Joe's Jeans - retail $172 each - for $39.99 each.

Those three deals alone made the stop at the mall worthwhile. Only down side is that girls know what some of their gifts are already.
