Black Friday Story Contest ~ 2011

Whether it is a day of frenzied shopping among the crowds, one that is rather peaceful shopping from home online &/or via the phone or maybe you did not shop / participate at all ~ either way share your Black Friday 2011 ( 11/25/11 ) activities for a chance to win a $15 Amazon Gift Code! The rules are very simple:

• Your story must be about your Black Friday 2011 ( 11/25/11 ) activities

My story is I stayed home and shopped online. I hate crowds! I mostly shopped at Kohls and did get one pair of sandals for dh at Nike.

Mom and I decided to go last minute around 11am. I got some awesome deals at Sears and then the door busters were over. I bought 4 Christmas presents for $30 and had a quality day with mom!

I only needed to get a Razor A scooter and Scrabble Flash from Target for my DD, I debated staying up and going at 12 but decided to just go in the AM. I got there around 8:30 and the store wasn't crowded at all. I got exactly what I needed and checked out in a few minutes.

As I was getting ready DH came in and looked at me. "Where are y'all going?" so I replied "What is it?" Shots fired at the mall at 2am. *Eye roll* from me. Sitting in the dark at 2am with money in your pocket is asking for it.

I did go to the mall and scored a present at the disney store with my FREE gift card from Disney Rewards points.

Went to Meijer around 8AM, parking lot looked like a normal day, didn't have to wait in line. Got to Target around 9:30, same thing. Here's what I got:

At Meijer:

• 2 of the 14pc Pyrex sets (1 for me and 1 for mom b/c we both need some) = 2*$12.49 = $24.98
• 1 Inflatable chair for DD for X-mas (she wanted another bean bag but I think this will be better) = $12.49 (half-off I believe)
• 1 Diary of a Wimpy Kid Cabin Fever book = $8.99
• 1 Boys Graphic Tee = $5.00 (this and the book are for DD's 2nd cousin, they draw names and she got my cousin's son)
• 1 Angry Bird stuffed animal with sound (for DD's stocking) = $5.00

At Target:

• 1 Yahtzee Flash Game (my sister will give to DD) = $15.00
• 1 Wheel of Fortune Wii game (for DD for X-mas) = $15.00
• 1 Fantastic Mr. Fox DVD (for DD for X-mas) = $3.99
• 1 Build-a-Bear Stocking Stuffer for DD = $4.99
• 1 Cars @ DVD (for DD for X-mas I think) = $13.00

All paid for with gift cards, so no OOP for me

Black friday I shopped on line at kohls.

I got a cuisinart for me and gifts like house shoes, enamel dutch oven, jewelery boxes, video camcorder, necklaces and a stamper set.. Now I have $75 in kohl's cash to spend on cyber monday - in case I find something I need .

Turkey day I shopped at Wags. We bought the $30 itunes gc and got the bonus $10 Wags gc to shop with. Bought a few deals of those, since I needed to buy that anyway. I have rebates for buying $50 in gcs so I will come out even better.
I was so excited since I haven't played in wags in a while.


One of those spur of the moment trips since I didn't plan ahead and special order coupons. We still made out like bandits.
Gave away some of my loot to the workers. In all I had a very nice time and didn't have to stand in any lines and managed to qualify for some rebates.

I did my CVS shopping on Wednesday night. The store manager called me to let me know the prices were active. I was the only customer aware of the activated sales, so I got everything I was looking for.

Friday morning, DH & I left around 8:30 and went to Kohl's, Academy, Hobby Lobby, JCP, Target, Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, Perlis. We got everything we were looking for. The crowds had mostly died down at that point. The worst line we stood in was a VS... took almost 45 mins to check out. And they were out of the free bags when I finally reached the counter, but I didn't really care. Came home and took a long nap.
