I had to go to walmart last night to return a Redbox movie. We only have 1 redbox and it is inside first set of doors at Walmart and they opened doors at 8. Sale starts at 10. So I went out there about 8:40. The entire parking lot was full and people were parked in the grass. I parked behind the 2 cop cars out front (yes 2 COP CARS) and went to run my movie in. Well there were about 10 people in line at redbox, some had 3-4 movies to return. So I decide I woul pay the extra buck and keep it another day. Heck they were due at 9 and the way that line was moving it was gonna be late anyway.
Anyway some people came in when I was tryingto decid if I should stay or leave. A mom and kid and some other people. So the kid is in front and is standing jus inside door where redbox line ends. The mom shoves her daughter to the side and says , 'that is just the line for redbox get outta of my way we have to get in there so I can get what I want' She said it very hateful to her poor daughter and then shoved by everyone. Heckl the sale didn't even start for over an hour. Anyway after seeing that I LEFT!!

First I want to say that I think to act this way over sale items is just out right crazy. I did not have the money this year to shop but even if I did I would not fight over the items. Yes I have been and tried to get the items I wanted but all this fighting and more is just crazy! If I was able to get my hands on the items I needed in the past good for me but if I did not I just left without them.
What do all of you think about this kind of behavor?

Ok this has been the worst year here that I know of.

Some women hit another women with a walking cane because they were in line for the $199 xbox360 and the women got the last ticket for one that they had to give out. She told that she did it because while walking to get in line the other women step in front of her by a few steps to beat her into the line...

Two women in their mid 60's were down on the floor fighting over the $1.28 towels...

Two men were fist fighting over the $15 games that was on sale

I forgot one some grown women went to jail for slapping a teenager over a toy watch..the funny thing was they said there was about 10 that nobody was even trying to get to.

Then somewhere I saw on tv that a women was spraying pepper spray at the people so she could get what she needed...

The pepper sray incident was in LA, I believe. I saw on our local news that the Walmart out here had a couple of fights. I don't so Black Friday. We had to go to the chiro this morning, so were out (snowing, very icy roads). Went to the feed store for dog food as they were giving the 15% discount to everyone before 10am. I also had $50 in store coupons to use, so got three bags of dog food for less than the cost of two. I was happy with that and then we went home.

I think all the fighting etc. is just ridiculous. Nothing is worth that. It's just supporting the corporate greed anyway. The less we buy the better.

Yes I feel that the stores could put out more of those items if they really wanted to than they do. If they would have two skids of each item then I feel that the fighing crap would not be as bad. I mean that know that there will be 200 people in there to get 74 xbox360 which is going to cause major problems.

They should start a line in the parking lot (like one you wait in at the fair)(with police there of course)..this is for things like tv's,laptops,wii,xbox60(anything that plugs in) and so on then at a certin time start with the first person in the line and let them pick one of the items in the back of the big truck that they want..each person only gets one of these items. have that one item handed to that person and then have them pay for it right there and then. Then when all of one item is gone its gone, that way no one knows what the others are in line to get so less fighting.(I would think)..

then in the store they could do lines for the toys with tickets so there is less fighting over those items also...

Or they could just have more of the items..lol I think they do less stuff sometimes to just see how big of fools people will make of themself...

For the most part everyone was nice where I went shopping. At Wal-Mart there were several ladies who were picking out PJs at the same time as me so we all started saying what size we need and helped each other find them.

I did witness one woman try to cut to the front of the line at Wal-Mart and the lady behind her yells "HELL NO!! Get to the back!" So the lady who cut line just kinda was like "Ok, sorry" and walked away embarrassed.

I actually had a woman get out of line just to come tell me "Mam, the line starts WAY back there!" At first I thought she was a sales associate and asked her where something was but then I realized she was just a shopper who thought I was trying to cut in line (I guess?) but I wasn't even really near the line so it kinda confused me! She apologized but I thought Geez, she probably lost her spot in line from trying to be in my business!

At Best Buy, about a hundred people tried to rush the front door right as it opened at midnight (people who had not waited in line, they just kinda came out of nowhere from across the parking lot.) I guess they thought the doors would just open and people would run in and they could sneak into the crowd. But people who had waited in line started screaming at them and the security guards blocked the side they were on so they could tell who was in line & who wasn't.

At Best Buy the line formed in the parking lot then they handed out tickets for the big ticket items like TV's. Then you just turn in your ticket to pay and drive around back to get the item. They started at the front of the line and when the tickets were gone, they were gone. They didn't do it for video game systems or smaller electronics though
