I will start.

My dad died unexpectedly and suddently 17 years ago today.
I was just 25 years old at the time,
and it was a jolt that changed my life.

I too lost my dad 2 years ago on the 20th of November. I was 8 months pregnant with my first and only child. Love and Miss you daddy!

I also lost my dad on my 27th B-day suddenly. This Jan 17 will be 5 years. The holidays are still tough. I can't imagine if I lost my husband or one of my kids.. Big Hugs to those who need them.

Lost my mom unexpectedly 6yrs ago..she was 54yrs old! I was thinking of her last night and started crying..I also lost my Grampa 3 yrs ago he was 86yrs old..the only Grandfather that I have ever knew..I miss the family getting together for the holiday's it will never be the same..

I lost my dad when I was 25 also. My kids were 4 and 5 at the time. It was 1983, and I still miss him every day. I wish my kids would have gotten to grow up with a grandpa, but it wasn't in God's plan. I lost my mother on Dec 15, 2001. Not only did it change Christmas forever, but her birthday was Christmas Eve. The holidays are not the same without them.

Ok I have to add something else here....My grandma, my dad's mom, passed away on December 1,2001. I was really close with her like I was with my dad.

I feel like my dad had to die so my daughter could be born and he is up there watching over her, like he is her guardian angel.(Ok I just started to get super emotional, crying and such, so I will stop here,) Hugs to everyone that has lost anyone they loved from a family member to friend.

New years is my hard time. My Father passed away on New Years when I was 6 years old. I grew up with New Years as being a sad time so now friends just don't understand why I don't want to celebrate and ring in the new year.

2 years ago on November 1st we lost DH's grandpa and since I have no grandparents left living that was hard for me too (not as hard as for DH but ya know).

There's more but I don't want to write a book.

I just lost my brother on November 15th...he was only 47 and it was very sudden. It still hurts.

I'm so sorry that all of you suffering such loss over the holidays. My Mom passed away over 16 years ago, and I still feel the loss most painfully over the holiday season. Hugs to you all and remember the happy and wonderful things about your loved ones, it really helps!

My twin brother passed away 14 yrs ago at the age of 36. Our shared birthday is coming up soon. I still miss him so much and think of him often. More recently my mom passed away about 3 years ago. Just today while playing with my grandson I felt sad that she didn't get to met Ethan. I think he would have made her so happy.

Sometimes at night when I'm tucked into bed I say my now I lay me down to sleep prayer with the closing of Michael, Mom and Nana, I miss you, I love you. I hope you are happy, healthy and well wherever you may be. Please watch over my family and keep them safe. I miss you.
