Re: Halloween gift bag ideas Time to scour clearance items that would work
But a gentle warning here, you will be setting yourself a standard by which kids will expect each year
We indulged one year and bought full size candy bars - let me tell you, we were thanked many times over AFTER halloween. We knew we were now on the hook to continue
So we did. But it takes a lot of planning ahead to be able to do it and not break the bank.
This year, I have 70 full size packs of Stride gum already sorted by flavor and put through the Food saver vacuum bag process so they stay fresh
Cost was under $6 and that included buying 30 coupons of the B1G1 variety and using them on a BOGO sale at Walgreens recently.
I still have some kids who I know quite well because we're friends with the families in the neighborhood, who come around that night to see what we're handing out And of course I include them in the handout too!
But it IS fun to plan ahead and see what you can do to meet your standard every year, something usually presents itself. I think there have only been a couple years where I really had to fork over a lot of money.
And this is a 17 year tradition already!
