What's the BEST gift you GAVE this year and why? ~ 2009

I have to say that although my 6 year old LOVES her guitar, the best gift I gave this year was a big wooden treasure box filled with home made skirts, dresses, plastic jewelry and a Princess Aurora tiara to my 3 year old. The skirts are mostly in pinks and purples as befits her preference. Everything shimmers and glitters and sparkles. Some are trimmed with fuzzy boas and she loves to layer them. She has been playing with it all non-stop since she opened it up and is a definitely fashion statement!

This year was a really rough year financially for us, as DH was laid off. In July, I found a Craigslist listing for 4 American Girl Dolls and many accessories...for $60!!!!!!!!! I sold/bartered 2 of the dolls to my sisters to repay the $60. No money out of pocket, and I was able to bless my daughter with her favorite dolls! She was shocked.

Abbie has been a wonderful little trooper about finding deals and trying hard not to ask for things that she knew we could not afford. She has blessed my heart over and over again with her prayers for God to give her Daddy a new job. It was fun to bless her back!
