Soooo what time did the kiddos get you up this morning? ~ 2009

Mine rose bright and early at 5:30 am. I remember years past though when that was late!

Too bad dh and I didn't get to bed until 1!

So now it's 6:30, all the stuff is unwrapped and wrapping paper/boxes/bows in the trash, and I'm working on cup #2 of java (or the elixer of life as my father would say).

What time did yours get up? Do you have secrets for keeping them occupied for a few more minutes shut-eye?

Our Christmas was yesterday. We just have the 14 year old at home now...and my husband woke her up at 9am. Otherwise, we would have been waiting until noon!! LOL!! And we had ALOT to do, so we needed to get the present-opening scratched off our list!

My son said that he woke up at 5:30, thinking that his kids would be in to wake him any time. He fell back to sleep, and didn't wake up until 10:15...and his kids were STILL asleep!!! He couldn't believe it!!

Back when I was a kid...and when my grown kids were growing up, it was 6am at the latest!!

DD - 6:30am, her everyday wake up call to us! I can't complain, she takes after me. This is payback for me after doing this to my parents my whole kid life!

I have to laugh...my parents have this cute holiday spirit pillow hanging around the doorknob that goes downstairs in the house I grew up in. It doesn't quite echo the sentiment that was there when I was growing up though...back in the day it read "DO NOT OPEN UNTIL 7AM UNDER THREAT OF MANAGEMENT!!"

It's 7:18 here, and DD is still soundly asleep. She's not a morning kiddo - I expect her up somewhere around 9-ish

DS is 14 and a night owl, so I won't see him before noon if I don't wake him up. DH is still asleep too, the only ones who want to open presents are the cats LOL

Years ago, when DS was 3, he got up at about 2am, saw all the gifts and just started opening. Opened everything - his, ours, the ones for family we'd see later in the day, even the cats - and left a HUGE mess in the living room. We came out around 5am to see him happily playing (cats were having a blast as well) in the middle of paper, wrappers and toys. We were annoyed at the time but it's become our favorite family story to tell :)

DS6 heard Santa wrapping presents around 11:30 and the was up and walking around every 15 minutes until 2-2:30. He and DD9 woke up around 7:30 and I held them off until about 9. Last night I told them that whoever slept the latest would get an extra present.

The baby got me up at 4AM and 7:30AM...probably doesn't count though. DH and DS3 both woke up sick this morning (sigh - no fun). I had to drag both out of the bed at 8AM. Sounds mercenary, but here it is 11:30AM and we still haven't made it to my family's house...and Christmas there doesn't start until we get there.

My son told me that my grandson got out of bed and walked into the living room about 30 seconds after Santa had finished hanging the stockings and putting the presents under the tree. My son walked him back to his room!! LOL!
